How did we beat Germany 5-1 in their back yard playing defensive football?

One of his 1st games in charge and a fantastic result I agree, seems to be mostly downhill from there. Great record on paper but would you like to pick through this list for other IMPRESSIVE results brought about by adventurous football? There aren't many.

One result does stand out LOSING TO f***ing AUSTRALIA AT HOME !!!

That result, albeit a great one, was a bit of an anomaly. Lets not forget that that Germany side was hardly at the height of its powers. Before anyone says they got to the World Cup Finals, they hardly had the most difficult route.

Ah parting is such sweet sorrow.

He wasn't that bad, just not good enough to finish the job off.

Let's wish him bon voyage on his way to the Bernabeu with his case stuffed with sterling. :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Oh, and as for Australia. Sorry, I really couldn't give a shit.

That might be his best legacy, that EVERY game doesn't have our entire footballing existence at stake.

Maybe if he'd taken games such as that a little more seriously instead of fannying about playing 22 players, we might have even stumbled across an established holding midfielder for England by now.

That would've been nice wouldn't it.

True, that must be one of his biggest weaknesses.

His use of substitutes is wasteful. His failure to find a suitable midfield combination after 4 years is poor really.

If that's what you think would have happened then yes. But that's conjecture.

And yes, 22 players was farcical but it did give a lot of people the opportunity to 'play' themselves out of contention :lolol: :lolol:

Anyway what am I doing, I'm quite pleased he's being replaced.

As long as the replacement isn't Big Sam :nono: :nono:
