It's a full time topic of conversation over there ha ha.
Ever time my dad visited home the first conversation was about who died over the previous year.
My boss’ elderly Irish mother now lives in the UK but fills her day watching live-streamed funerals from Ireland, ffs

My partner is from Kildare and her dad retired a couple of years ago but drives a hearse every now and then for his friends company and every time it comes on the radio he turns it up to see if he's going to have work in the coming days.

Also wild that they bury people within 2-3 days after passing. When my grandad passed a couple of years ago back home, i had like 2+ weeks to arrange a flight and make it back in time for the funeral.

My thought process: "I don't know that person, so I won't open the thread" or "That person means something to me, I'll open the thread". Seems pretty simple to me.

I think some people feel they have to consume every word typed on this board.

Why the need to censor what other people can discuss. It's weird.

I’m prepared, obviously with Bozza’s endorsement, to become the RIP monitor.
How would you moderate RIP threads, from a volume perspective, though? How do you decide who’s worthy of a NSC RIP thread and who isn’t?

They are self moderating, they all drop off the front page at rates dependent on their popularity.

Why the OP cares so much is anyone's guess. I think it's more about moaning about and flouncing off NSC than anything else.

"Today's live-streamed funerals have been brought to you by Ireland's leading funeral director, Phil McCoffin.

As a burial specialist, Phil promises that he'll only let you down once."

Get used to it because it’ll get worse, we entered a death wave a few years ago, all those boomers are now popping their clogs.

Maybe the RIP threads are the big earners for Bozza and the rest of the filthy rich moderators!
If Rod Stewart, Bill Clinton and King Charles have the misfortune to shuffle off before the end of the tax year, I’ll be drinking champagne out of my shoe

So we should censor people for censoring people. I like it.
