Great memories of a brilliant footballer and, by all accounts, a lovely man. Always remember the pictures of him in tears when collecting his FA Cup runners-up medal. RIP Robbo.

Such a Goldstone Ground favourite, for his tireless enthusiasm and goalscoring feats, during a great time for the Albion.

My favourite memory is FAC R4 v Man City when he broke free and ran from the halfway line before scoring in front of the North Stand to make it 4-0. That was a perfect afternoon for 14 year old Moshe - and Robbo played a massive part.

"We'll take more care of you, Robinson, Robinson" ...

I can't believe this - I live in Spain and he's been a fixture on commentaries here. He's a legend here too and his passing is dominating the sport headlines today. I can't remember the last game he did but it was certainly recent enough to not think anything like this was coming, despite his illness. Bloody hell...

As a teenager in '83 the FA Cup Semi Final still holds wonderful memories for me. It was such an amazing day out and the excitement of the occasion and what we all felt on the final whistle will live with me for ever. As an Albion fan days such as these are so much rarer but also so much more special. Personally they mean more to me than if we were winning a cup every 2 or 3 years likes the big clubs do. As much as the Final was a great day out, my memories of the Semi are so much sweeter - as after the match we had a month of build up to the biggest game in our history.

Yeah snap - I was 12 and that semi final day is without doubt the best moment of supporting Albion - even better than Prem promotion

I've just checked. His last league game was Betis v Real as recently as March 8th, and his last ever commentary was at Anfield in the Champions' League, appropriately enough. It continues to shock me when a hero of my childhood goes - some part of me fixes them as immortal in my mind.

Gone from the drawer clearing stage of lockdown to the rearranging bookcase stage of lockdown. Just found the very impressive bound collection of old news reports my mum bought me for my 40th. A quick flick through found this report which seems quite apt. RIP Michael.

We've had some player deaths over the years but suddenly, as age catches up with us, my generation of players have started to fall.
The news this morning of his passing brought me to tears. I recall him saying in an interview in the 80's how he didn't really like football. Blow me I move to Spain mid 80's and he pops up on TV speaking perfect Spanish and talking football. Of course it wasn't the Preston goal or the Spurs away goal that I first thought of but that pass, that perfect run beating two United players followed by that pass.
Michael, forever in my memory, RIP.

What utterly crap news. Condolences to his family and all who knew him. Certainly one of my favourite players who gave his all on every occasion.As others have mentioned, the 4th Goal against Manchester City in the '83 cup run epitomised his effort,hunger and skill. RIP Michael,you'll be terribly missed. Thanks for everything.l

Undoubtedly one of the best strikers we ever had, we are crying out for a Michael Robinson up front.
Will always remember the Semi final most and he`ll always be the one that sent us to our only FA Cup Final.

I can still remember how thrilled I was when we signed him from Manchester City. 61 is no age, but I guess he had a pretty good life. Very sad news though.
