It has recently been confirmed to us that Tony, aka hitony on here. has sadly recently passed away.

Although Tony was a less frequent poster on here, after he lost his beloved wife Rose not so long ago, he has been a near ever-present on NSC since the very early days.

For much of that time Tony has been a moderator, giving up his time to help keep this community ticking along, bringing great care and humour to the role.

I'll sorely miss having Tony about, both on here and in the top-secret mods group which we use to talk about you all. Nicely, of course.

RIP Tony - an absolute gentleman who gave so much to this site.
Oh my days, truly sad news, a real gentleman, a great moderator and a great guy RIP Tony 😥

I think I remember reading that Hitony's NSC moniker came from a friendly 'Hi Tony' greeting.

If that's true, there's an added poignant sadness in saying farewell.

Another one of our own gone.

Byetony.

I'm so sad to here this news @Bozza
I only spoke to Tony last Oct and he seemed quite chipper and positive after the passing of his wife Rosie.
We often chatted over the last few years about the Albion, families, motor homes and of course NSC.
Tony always came across as a kind person who always had time to ask how people were getting on, especially myself.
We had planned to meet up at some point here in Ruislip, but alas that never came about due to different circumstances.
Tony had a very good SOH.
Absolutely gutted at this news 😢

I only new him through his posts on here, but he came across as a passionate Albion fan and a decent bloke. RIP Hitony.

Hitony advitar for years I thought it was actually him until I saw the same face on an example grave stone in my local stone mansions, his posts clearly showed a sense of humour and others using the said avatar to be a standard face on endless photo shopped images.

RIP thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew him and that includes all of us here on NSC

That's awful news...

It makes me realise how quickly life passes us all by... It seems like only yesterday when I first discovered NSC back in its visual basic days... circa 96-97... I would have been about 15, and acted like it... lol...

I remember Hitony from the intervening years, and as others have said he seemed like a genuine and lovely man... I don't doubt that all who knew him will miss him greatly.

I hope he gets to look down on us as we savour another glorious end to the season :)

Rest in peace x

Such sad news. Like many others, I never met him in “real life” but enjoyed all his contributions to this board.

Condolences to all those that knew him personally, and obviously his family also.

RIP

Thanks for this. You have to admire anyone who gives up their time to help a community. May he rest in peace.
