Saw Procol Harum at The Dome, during the 'Exotic birds and fruit' tour. Robin Trower was the guitarist. They were pretty good.

RIP Gary,
Whiter Shade of Pale was the most iconic record of the 1967 Summer of Love.
Oh happy days, I still can’t believe it was 55 years ago.
What a fantastic time it was to be 19.

Pretty sure I was there too:rock:

Time for a thread of 'were you at that gig at the Dome?' with the inclusion of a well crafted poll.

It would need to include (off the top of my head):

Bowie
Slade
Deep Purple
Family
Procul Harem
Genesis I and Genesis II
Supertramp
Captain Beefhart
Robin Trower
Wishbone Ash
Rory Gallagher
Argent
Groundhogs
Peter Hammill
Joan Armatrading/Chris De Burgh
Hall and Oats I and II
Bebop Deluxe/Doctors of Madness
Caravan
Steve Hillage

Pink Floyd no doubt several hundred thousand are now claiming they were at the DSOTM debut

Weren't Joan Armatrading and Chris De Burgh supporting Supertramp
Also need to include

Nils Lofgren
Ry Cooder
Nazareth
Streetwalkers
Graham Parker and the Rumour (supported by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes)
ELP
Hawkwind
Roxy Music
Kraftwerk
King Crimson

Of those I saw: Procul Harem, Argent, Groundhogs, Genesis (Selling England tour) and Steve Hillage. I had no interest in any of the others, apart from Bowie and Doctors of M.

Other ones to add are: Roxy Music (with Eno), Nils Lofgren/Tom Petty (that was a cracking gig), Dory Previn (that wasn't) and Graham Parker & the Rumour. I'm sure there are some I've forgotten

I'll take the DSOTM debut because I clearly remember the Azimuth thingummy not working. Plus
Joan Armour Plating
Supertramp
Nazareth
ELP
and my first ever gig - King Crimson on the Islands tour.

I'll chuck in
Led Zep
Queen
Tull
Steve Earle
Leonard Cohen
Steeleye Span
Fairport Convention
Stackridge:moo:

Most of those. Great times.
But not Deep Purple - saw them at the Big Apple.

So poignant just 2 weeks after his, and my fellow friend, record producer, promoter, A&R man, Rockfield legend - Gordon Sutherland. Peace to you both.
