I have no recollection of Kraftwerk playing the Dome -when was this? And how did I miss it?

It seems you missed them at the Dome twice, first in 1975 and then in 1981.

Never mind, you can listen to all that you missed of both of those Dome concerts here and here....

17th September 1975:

27th June 1981:

or here:

Now that you know when they were you might be able to answer your last question yourself.

Time for a thread of 'were you at that gig at the Dome?' with the inclusion of a well crafted poll.

It would need to include (off the top of my head):

Supertramp
Wishbone Ash
Steve Hillage

See edits.

The comments in both those links are interesting too. You may even recognise the names of some of the contributors

Not the Dome but I did see Procul Harum at Worthing Assembly Halls about a decade or so ago. Still brilliant

Whiter Shade of Pale was our first dance at our wedding in 1982. No idea why I chose this song though.
And Elton John at the Dome in his heyday.

Thanks for this. I know where I was for the second one: I was still in Bradford, it was my last night at uni and I was watching Misty in Roots that day. But I have no idea how I missed the one in 1975 - perhaps I was skint.

A Whiter Shade of Pale is for me THE worst use of Hammond organ ever! What a dirge that song is!

And to think that instrument can be an absolute joy in the right hands. Let the likes of Jimmy Smith, Jackie Mittoo or Richard 'groove' Holmes loose on it and magic happens!
