But with no keeper to beat???

I dunno, its obviously really difficult to actually get it in from that distance at a lower height, I think. He still had to bend it round one of the outfield players, rather than hitting it over all of them. Beckham's was arguably the better goal, but I think Alonso's Luton one required a lot of skill.

With the Cup Winners Cup on a knife-edge in the 120th minute and with penalties beckoning, Arsenal stood a chance of becoming the only ever club to retain the trophy. Former Tottenham star, Nayim, had other ideas though, as he hopelessly aimed a shot from the halfway line towards Seaman, who was woefully out of position. Big Dave was embarrassingly lobbed from over 50 yards, gifting Real Zaragoza the trophy in the process. The first in a long line of costly Seaman blunders

Hence the justly famous 'Sun' headline: Seaman lobbed from halfway line. One of the great double-entendres of all time.

Possibly but it was the first time that had really happened, it was a great moment (and a great chant) and I can still remember dancing round my living room when it happened. :D
