Good finish, but it was basically down to Henderson just (unsurprisingly) being a complete cock.
What was he supposed to do?? Let the guy just run in for a simple one on one. He was unfortunate with that goal, he did the right thing.

Best one I saw was way back in about 1969 when a Watford winger called Owen launched one from wide out in his own half .... the ball seemed to go so high it was in orbit before coming down into the net with the keeper still looking skywards.

Also saw one 5 years ago when Albion Rovers beat Peterhead in gale foce conditions. The Albion Rovers winger booted the ball from the touchline well inside his own half and the wind caught it and blew it over the keepers shoulder into the goal

As for the poll: Alonso last night!

If Henderson had stayed on his line, Watford wouldn't have scored. And if he really had to come out, he could at least have headed it out of play.
The league's top scorer through on the keeper who is rooted to his line, and he wouldn't have scored? ??? I don't see how he could possibly have headed it out of play from the position he was in.

In this case it was bad luck, not bad goalkeeping.

With the Cup Winners Cup on a knife-edge in the 120th minute and with penalties beckoning, Arsenal stood a chance of becoming the only ever club to retain the trophy. Former Tottenham star, Nayim, had other ideas though, as he hopelessly aimed a shot from the halfway line towards Seaman, who was woefully out of position. Big Dave was embarrassingly lobbed from over 50 yards, gifting Real Zaragoza the trophy in the process. The first in a long line of costly Seaman blunders

Hence the justly famous 'Sun' headline: Seaman lobbed from halfway line. One of the great double-entendres of all time.

Aboslutely right. Criminal that this one isn't in the poll... the other were just pale reflections.

Robert Codner away at Plymouth in about 95/96? We won 3-0 that day after losing something like 9 away games on the trot. Centre forward for us that day - Ade Akinbiyi

Has to be Beckham. No keeper tomfoolery, placed it just under crossbar; way back then, his celebration was cool.

Not now though.

Possibly but it was the first time that had really happened, it was a great moment (and a great chant) and I can still remember dancing round my living room when it happened. :D

I remember a certain John Slako doing it for P****e against Forest years ago, long before Beckham, Najim or Alonso.
