It’s pretty simple

It’s meant to be clear and obvious

Clear and obvious means you are looking at the picture without any lines and a time limit

If you can’t see it within 30 seconds without assistance it’s not clear and obvious.

I would say no lines and 5 seconds, otherwise the on field call stays.

So Burn was offside from the free kick but play carried on for ages till Burn scored including Bournemouth having plenty of touches , just killing any enjoyment of scoring now

If you are going to use VAR for offsides, then I would change the rule to say that in order to be offside the attacker must have no part of his body in line with a defender (ie clearly ahead), not any part of his body ahead.

Again, we are trusting these buffoons to make decisions based on technology that isn't accurate. Today's ref clearly didn't even have the ability to stop and start his watch - 3 mins injury time with a good couple of mins VAR, the odd injury, time wasting and six subs. Luckily it made no difference to us but if these morons cant even do this properly then there's no chance with VAR.

Sorry but if you’re having to slow down video freeze it and give someone offside by a toenail then the advantage should go with the attacking team, blatant errors like the Luiz one are what VAR is for, it’s just not the football I love anymore when we are sitting here dissecting images like this, it’s an absolute disgrace.

Strange thing is they had started showing the VAR decision replay on the big screen, then today with the Burn call they showed nothing. Convenient, its utterly horrendous.

We were talking about this today as well, the linos are told to not put the flags up for tight calls, what happens if the linesman doesn’t put his flag up, you win a corner from the offside attack so you’ve gained an advantage by being offside, then score from the corner?

There is just so many nonsense vagaries and rules that aren’t fit for VAR, along with the people running it. Utter buffoons.

I would just add that it takes so long for a decision to be made that it allows a tiring defence to recover some what, so that is another reason for less goals in a game.
That's a big reason most of us turn up for games.

Or have a time limit. If VAR cannot be 100% sure within 30seconds then it is "inconclusive" and the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking side.
If it should be "clear and obvious" then it shouldn't take long to establish there is an error.

Am I missing something here? The freeze frame they used was after Mooy had kicked the ball and the line they drew for Big Dan Burn was through the mid part of his arm and not where his shoulder starts.
