Always remember this great line from RB - "There were three people in The Jam, and two of them weren't Paul Weller"

There's not many bands that led you to search out poetry, read books like "Absolute Beginners" etc. As well as nicking bowling shoes from the local bowling alley!

Simply the best British band there's ever been IMO. Gutted beyond words.

The Jam. Embassy Cinema, Western Road, circa 1977. Were you there?

The Embassy. I didn't realise they'd played a few gigs there, I only went to one (I'm pretty sure I was with you and Attila) and a massive fight broke out. The old bill turned up to break it all up while The Jam played "There's a riot going on". Those were the days.
'Punky Steve' Montgomery, who spent much time in the Inn Place underneath the Alhambra. Tattood legs. Off his tits. Acting like an arse.
A tiny skin-head stood up to him.
That was in the queue to get in.
More arse-hattery inside.

Anyone go to the Jam at Crawley old Leisure Centre when think they only played about 3o mins, pints beer glasses thrown on stage, everywhere, anyway got Kettled afterwards whilst loads of skinheads kicked off smashing place up. The Jam at Brighton Centre were brilliant!

Brilliant gig!
