Sure, but what if you're not known ? That's my point.

I said: "You show us where else this sort of cover up is occurring."
You replied: "The Scouts"
I then told you that you wouldn't get CRB clearance as a scout leader if you were a kiddie fiddler.

If nobody knows that your scout leader is a paedophile, then that isn't a cover up is it?

The title may suggest so.

But its more about a publicity stunt by a media whore who has no authority to undertake such an action nor the evidence to put forth a legitimate case.
Why bring Peter Tatchell, into this?

Debatable, some people tend to turn a blind eye.

When were CRB's made compulsory?

I know out here similar checks were only made so in the last 10-15 years.

The majority of abuse happened long before this though.

You seem to be talking more recent when it seems the bulk of these things occurred much further back.

As a society i'd say after around the early 90's we became more aware and started implementing safe guards for this kind of thing.

I reckon you're right there.

I could be wrong! (happens alot)

But most victims seem to be late 30's early 40's and older.

The much lower numbers of younger people coming forward might mean such security checks or awareness had started to have a positive effect in weeding such predators out.

Dawkins isnt going to do that. think Pinochet. they are going to seek that a court issues an arrest warrant for his alledged coverup of kiddie fiddler preists (though im not sure they will use that terminology), then it will be over to the police to arrest the Pope.

it certainly is publicity stunt, to highlight how a corrupt organisation has managed to put itself above the law and is too often protected by its followers in high places.

That's what I'm saying, and it'll work on the publicity level of course.
All the time they were hush-hush and society rolled their eyes (but little more than that), it was just going to continue as if it were 'part of the job description' for some pedos.
Outcry and finger-pointing forces them to think, and maybe realise that a pedo priest is still ultimately still just another pedophile.

ABC?

Those left wing dickheads are so far removed from real Australians it's not funny.

Incredibly biased organisation that has no credibility due to it's being in bed with the socialist types.

I note that another poll has a majority in favour of a curb on immigration - do you really think that's a left-wing policy?

The Socialists are coming back. Awful. How left wing buffoons like Fry can be taken seriously is beyond belief. I love it how you all bumlick Stalin and Lenin the biggest mass murderers in History don't forget Mao also. But you seem to think that a man called Joseph Ratzinger should be tried when he has done nothing wrong.

In other words, you don't like what they've found.

The vast majority of Australians think their 7 cents a day tax that goes towards the ABC is a waste of money.

And that's the honest truth.

Just to highlight the mindset of the idiots who run it.

One of their employees was arrested in Singapore trying to bring ICE(the drug) into Australia.

Not the ABC, they give the fucker a nice cushy job and a pay rise.
