Does Fab change things up for Newcastle at the weekend with one eye on Fulham now that we are in serious contention for European football (or dare I say Champions League Football?)

Wonder where the priorities lie now?

Tough balancing act.

Newcastle will be a big obstacle to get past… we have some momentum though and so it’s the strongest 11 possible for me please

Wash your mouth out FFS! It's the Cup - we want to go for it. Best chance of Europe we've got.

More important than that, it's a MAJOR trophy - one of which we haven't won for over 100 years!

No chance. Good possibility that 8th would still get some form of Europe, if we finish 9th or lower we simply don’t deserve it. Strongest team in the cup please, would love to see us win a trophy
Would love to see us win the first ever f***ing trophy of any meaning in our history.
And there is a fair chance I will miss the final as I am down to have my knee replaced in May.
Frankly they can replace the lot with Long John Silver's wooden monstrosity if it means we win the cup.

Given that Albion only have three matches between now and the end of March I would be well NARKED if he didn't play the strongest team at Newcastle.

League- 11 matches to get to Europe, most of which will need to be won
FA Cup- 4 matches- all of which need to be won

It's full strength all the way.

I think he will change it up…

Ayari, Welbeck, Adringa and Hinshelwood

For Gomez, Pedro, Minteh and Lamptey.

Not sure that makes us any weaker TBH.
Adingra for Minteh makes us a lot weaker.

Don’t fancy leaving Lamptey or Hinshelwood on their own against Gordon which they would be if we played the totally inefectual Adingra instead of the brilliant Minteh.

As @Eeyore points out, we only have three matches in the next five weeks. Unless someone is carrying an injury, they should be considered for selection for all three, and we should play our best possible team for all three.

The field for the Cup is relatively open - if we can get past Newcastle, then we stand a serious chance.

Likewise the chances of Europe are good, with us as much in the mix as half a dozen others.

No reason not to go absolutely all-out on both fronts.

Not the time to keep players happy, rotate etc. This is the sharp end of elite football so play the best 11 (based on training/form). Irrespective of who you are in the club (skipper/fan favourite) you play if you deserve to. Injuries are part of football and you cannot second guess when they’ll occur.

Can't see him making too many changes: it's not like we're playing a Championship side. I did wonder if leaving out Jack tonight was part of the plan for Saturday, along with Ayari. Both are still very young and JH has had a fairly long injury absence, so perhaps a bit of managing that too.

Wonder we might see Wieffer in midfield though.

NO.

Do wonder about Newcastle though. Already in a final, chasing CL football. Will Smug Eddie rest anyone?
