REMF Brighton Marathon Team 2013

I am planning the REMF team for next year on Sunday 14/4/13. Please post here or PM me if you want to be considered as we need to book places soon. I hope to be able to go for £ 10k again for the team next year and the commitment I ask of you is to try and raise a minimum of £ 500 and only take a place if you are 100% committed.

Can I ask, are you buying guaranteed entry charity bonds which you will provide in exchange for a pledge of at least £500?

As I mentioned last year you will make more income giving these to non-NSCers. If someone on here agrees to run for REMF why waste a charity bond on them?

You could be right HT. I did the same thing last year though and the team raised £ 9500 and 211% of its target. Any ideas to improve on this are welcome.

One of the NSC members has already PM'd me and is registering himself from his own money as he wants to run for the REMF but cannot commit to the criteria so hopefully we can get a team of 15 and go for £ 7500 minimum next year.

My advice is to NOT give out charity bonds to people who will already run for you. It's is pointless. Give the bonds to non-NSCers. There are websites were you can post the bonds and get outsiders using them. If this is something you do not want to consider then you might as well just organise your team to apply for regular entries and save money.

That's OK all the time there are spaces available. By the time I decided to run for REMF this year it was full.

This is my point. If someone decides they want to run for REMF they, or REMF, might as well make a regular entry now and save money.

The Brighton marathon is not in my plans for next year I'm afraid.

In an ideal world yes, but after 2011 I was injured for weeks so didn't know if I could do another one. As it turned out I could!

While there are still entries open I believe your focus should be to get folks to commit to REMF through signing up for their own entries.
