As it stands we have sold White and Lamptey, Webster, Dunk and Welbeck are injured.
We need a very good couple of weeks on and off the field.

Dunk and Webster aren’t injured . They’re playing on Saturday. And March is now fit for first time in 6 months.

Our fortunes are hard to call for next year. Given that every season we've been in the Prem for over half the season there's only been 4 or 5 points separating everyone from about 11th down, so I think we'll be looking over our shoulder for at least part of the season. I wouldn't be surpised if we're in the mix next year, but I do think there will be 3 worse teams than us. On the flip side I wouldn't be suprised if we pushed on. Largely I think we've got a stable squad and there are clubs who look chaotic at the moment, so I'm confident we have the foundations for improving on last year.

As things stand I for one would expect a similar season to the last, and predict another 16th finish which I would be more than happy with.

Can't see us scoring enough goals to put us higher up the table but don't think we'll go down either.

Same old same old.

Danny Mills has made the mistake of assuming that everyone has the same opinion as he does in saying we’re favourites to go down. Betting markets, which are driven by punters’ money/opinion, have us as 9th favourite at 8-1 (easily the longest we’ve been pre-season), so he’s objectively wrong. And also a bitter ****.

Personally will be surprised if we finish any lower than 14th and miles off the bottom 3. However this Brighton and a comfortable mid table season is not our style :lolol:

Didn’t someone on talkSPORT recently predict us to get in the top 8 this season?

Possibly but I can 100% guarantee it wasn’t anyone who had an allegiance to Leeds :lolol:

Danny Mills is an absolute wazzock. Couldn't care less about what he has to say about us. took one look at the table and thought yeah they will struggle again. I bet he would struggle to name 5 of our players.

Yes just checked. Hats off to Dean Ashton for being bold to think for himself as a pundit and against the grain and obvious platitudes of the mainstream. He predicted us to finish 6th.

Not saying I agree necessarily but it’s nice to see a pundit well researched for teams beyond the top 4:

TalkSPORT had them down in the customary 16th but one of their pundits, Dean Ashton, was looking way above that.

He believes they could be pushing for the top six if all goes well.

The former West Ham striker said: “There is so much more to come from this side.

“They showed glimpses of it without being able to see teams off because of the lack of goalscorers.

“They have done a little bit of business.

“There are lots of things going Brighton’s way. Obviously the manager has had a lot of the headlines because of comments from the likes of Pep and the way his teams play.

“I just think if they continue to build on what they have done so far last season in terms of that style, in terms of taking it to a lot of sides and not quite getting over the line, I think they could surprise quite a lot.

“It wouldn’t surprise me, if they got it right, they could be up towards top six.

“Honestly, I really liked the way they played.

“I thought they were unlucky in a lot of games.

“A little bit of naivety, maybe a slight lack of belief.

“But if they had had a goal scorer they would have won most of those games.

“I can picture a few of the games.

“The Crystal Palace game was incredible.

“They were fantastic and still Benteke scored in the last minute.

“There were lots of games like that and I think they will have done a lot of work over the summer, I’m sure.

“They could be THE surprise package of the Premier League for me.”

Wow sounds like he actually knows what he's talking about and seen us play abit. Towards top 6 may be a bridge too far though..

Not worried. Not been worried since March 2020 - all throughout last season, even when it looked rough in the table, I thought the team played too good football to go down, and I think it will be the case this season as well. Hopeful that the club will manage to reach somewhere around 50 pts.

Does that rule out relegation or a relegation battle? No, but I find it highly unlikely. At least two of the three newcomers should struggle, Southampton is looking increasingly chaotic, bit of a revolution in Palace that could end up in a number of ways, also not sure about Wolves.

Not buying the whole "the squad is no stronger than last season". It is. Brighton got a young squad and young players who train football professionally are going to improve.

4-0 is a big loss but Ajax will do bits this season, they are a great side.
in the 3 years Bielsa has been there we have won hardly any pre-season friendlies. Lost 4-0 to Manu last season in Australia and I think we lost to Stoke as well. Ajax were good but we assisted in 3 of their goals. No Llorente, or Firpo or Phillips and as you guys know we don't often perform when Phillips is missing. What Ajax do well is press really high and keep possession for ages.Something that not many teams in the Prem can replicate.
