Staggering decision to book him. Just makes the PFA looks like idiots, which they aren't. Gordon Taylor's taken his eye off the ball there. Henning Wehn would have been a great choice.

This guy annoys me a lot (as well as that American guy that appears on quiz shows a lot) that is by the by though. The PFA chose him as their 'comedy act'. He used the N word a lot.
He's pretty much my favourite active comedian at the moment, never fails to make me laugh

Henning Wehn is great too. And Bob Mills.

Frankie Boyle would have been good at this PFA thingy.

Henning Wehn.

Reg v funny but odd booking for PFA awards. I'd love that gig, it's almost five figures.

Almost? Bearing in mind I've known smaller organisations pay five figure sums, I'd have though it would be closer to six!

Who chooses? Is it the players themselves, or suits from the FA?

Such things are always about context but to have the N word repeatedly used is pretty close to home after what's happened in English football the past couple of years.

More close to home than being a black person who grew up in the deep south USA? As you say, a word means nothing without context.

I loved hearing Peter Taylor on talksport today whinging about it, him and all the other PFA old school fuddy duddies just wouldn't have got it.

Atrocious! If I used the word I would be termed a racist, he uses it and it is termed comedy.

Pathetic. Calling the guy a comedian is stretching it anyway; I have never found him funny; correction I find him about as funny as Michael McIntyre. The fact that Clark Carlisle was embarrassed, really sums it up to me.

Ship him back home please? Hunter not Carlisle!

Oh the irony of it all is so funny!!! The FA and their absolute paranoia about the barely non existent 'racism' that exists in english football and they go and hire this guy!!! Would love to have been a fly on the wall at the FA this morning!!! No doubt there will be lengthy 'enquiries' and 'reports' and new sets of 'guidelines' issued after last night.

What a completely over the top reaction to it all, to hear Gordon Taylor and Clark Carlisle speaking you would've thought someone had died last night at the awards. Imagine the meltdown if was a white guy who did that routine last night? Guaranteed criminal prosecution!!!

If you dont like someone, dont watch them. A friend of mine is easily offended by joke but they dont go and watch Frankie Boyle for example !!

I guess that's the problem. The people at the PFA awards didn't choose to go and see Reginald D Hunter, he was just booked as part of an evening.

I'm not denying him his right to say it. Just saying I find it very hard to believe that anyone would not expect backlash from using that word at the PFA awards after what's happened the past couple of years.

Evidently the terms personal experience, culture & context mean absolutely naff-all to you then. Well there's a surprise...

After what's happened the past couple of years ? There's been a few incidents , some of them blown out of all proportion by people who earn their living in the "combating racism " industry , hardly 1920s Alabama.

I would love to know the reasoning behind this booking. The perceived racism aside, the PFA and Hunter are certainly an odd coupling.
