I most definitely have hit a nerve havent I ?? do you think continually calling me a mug makes you sound a little bit more "street" than your wealthy kingston background would normally indicate, do you use it to sound like all the bad boys you aspire to be after the week or so you proudly boast about spending in south norwood ?

No nerve at all... maybe my so called "wealthy" background has hit a nerve with you... Did you have to work the streets as a rent boy as a kid?

You av kinda lost track of what your argument is... So you are saying Boris can change London... by stopping all the immigrants? So what has he done so far?

And if you hate london so much why do you get so worked up by it?

btw was only 2 years in South Norwood... Infact spent a lot of time in wealthy fulham... that was nice (shame there were chelsea fans near by)...

Anyway where i lived isn't really the issue... it is what Boris is going to do for London... Simple question...

Sorry to hi-jack your flirting with Bushy ;-) but where abouts did you live in S. Norwood? I've lived in a few different parts of the Cronx but always found the area to be a bit shitty, was it ok where you lived?

Yeah I know it, right on the edge of the country park. It's not really that bad round there, good transport links and brick and mortar wise the houses are pretty good. Just a shame there's quite a few wannabe gangstas round there. A good friend of mine lives nearer East Cro on Davidson road which should be fairly nice but there's quite a few muggings round there and no exaggeration, about 10 car break ins a weekend!

I'm happy in Coombe (South Croydon) with the well heeled Asians and posh people!

exactly, so how are you qualified to talk about how wonderful it is to live in such a vibrant multi cultural city ? anyway ht not sure i can deal with the two pronged attack from yourself and brighton boy , who is " mugging me off" as we speak :lolol:

Leafy NW1 was vibrant and certainly multi-cultural. Have you ever seen how buzzy and exotic it is in Fresh and Wild?

Okay, I'll leave you with Brighton Boy then.

rent boy , oh my wounded pride, bit of advice , your insults need a bit of work ,like i said in a previous post before, its not what boris will do , its what he wont, which is cynically court the muslim vote by promising to make london a "beacon of islam" and as i also said before , i cannot ever forgive him for what he did with the IRA,i get worked up on these issues because london is MY home town , and lots of it has been turned into a 3rd world shithole in the last 20 odd years.

Again, Sorry to Hijack this love-in. Do you truly believe that London has turned into a third world shithole in the last 20 years? Most of the migration that would have been perceived as having been negative took place in the late 50’s with the influx of west Indians and then in the 70’s with a greater number of Asian communities.

Whilst I respect your opinions on your home town, I’m inclined to trust my own Dad’s opinion on London and migration. He (now 75 years old) moved to Bayswater/Notting hill in 1956 some two years before the first black migrants came over and lived through some of the worst riots the city has ever seen. He has also lived in Clerkenwell, Brixton and then raised our family in Herne hill. He has always been quick to moan about the negative impact migration has had on London and I’m ashamed to say is inheritably racist BUT he maintains modern London is a better place now than it has been in his life time, he is forever telling me how gentrified traditionally ‘rough’ places have become.

I know I'm coming to this thread late, but what exactly did he do with the IRA? Talk to them and make the point that the only way the "troubles" would ever be resolved and peace delivered would be by negotiation?

As if a ludicrous policy like that was ever going to work!

I'm afraid I very much put Ken in the ' old dinosaur politician file'. He's had his day and was beaten by the tories in the last election. It still amazes me that he triumphed in the Labour candidate election, I quite liked Oouma King. The real losers he are Londoners themselves, having to chose between a bumbling idiot in the shape of Boris or as I said an old political dinosaur.

For the record, I wasn't born in any of the London Boroughs nor have I ever lived there. I have played monopoly on numerous occasions if that helps.

Just in case you missed my earlier post... What areas of London are worse now than they were 20 years ago? They are "lots" so should be easy to name a few. If you can't answer this then the rest of your ramblings here are inconsequential.

Too many to list , but tooting certainly is, as is most of south and east london, i dont know west london really, or a lot of north london, what is your point ? we are going for a pint tomorrow night, why not ask me these questions then instead of some making this faux attempt at proving me wrong.

My point is that Tooting is better now than it was 20 "odd" years ago, as is all of London. I have lived for 30 of my 38 years of age in London and have seen the improvements. I have been to Tooting many times over many years as I have a good friend living there. It is not where I would choose to live but it is without doubt nicer now then it was 20 years ago. If you are going to make huge sweeping statements on a public message board then you should be able to defend them without getting all menstrual.
I was born in Peckham in 1974 and went to school in Forest Hill. If you think that those "south east" London areas are somehow worse now then they were 20+ years ago then I'm sorry sir but you are way off the mark.
