Need to overlay the travel chaos (imagine calling your kid that) as an impact for the Leicester game.

We arrived via coach at 15:05 so have to consider how many actually gave up and didn’t make it.

The next home game at 3pm (Newcastle) is probably a fair barometer, if of course it needs to be assessed at all.

This winning machine of a team must shirley help too.

All the talk of huge predicted transport issues last Sunday almost put me off. But so glad I made the effort, what a day!

Who really gives a flying ****. We all know they call it attendance and we all know it just relates to tickets sold so I have no idea why so many seem to get so uptight about it other than using as a stick to beat the club.

Alright i will bite , I DO . The reason being that i like when records are set and then broken so if someone says that on a certain date the crowd was a record 30,000 plus and it goes down in history as such it upsets me when i know it was about 25,000 !
And yes i know i am odd but i am sure i am not the only one ( i hope ! )

I was going by the wording in the We are Brighton Tweet in the opening post.
I was there at the final whistle but too busy cheering and clapping the team to take any notice of any announcement :)

So was I but i heard the announcement...wouldn't take WAB reporting as gospel. :)

Because they call it attendance, and it isn't.
In an age where I can find the number of touches Maupay had, the number of metres Cucurella ran, the number of passes the team tried to make and what percentage were successful, it is really annoying to have a metric we all know to be false given out, and not be able to find the real figure anywhere.

The Tweet says "For some reason this does not seem to have been announced with much fanfare anywhere else" well we know the reason, it's because it's bollocks, we all know we have been there with a larger number of supporters than we were with on Sunday.
The attendance used to be a source of pride, or sometimes of embarrassment, and also an indication of the fickleness/staunchness of the support, if you know what your supporter numbers were like in good times and in bad.

Was worth, my eldest needed a result after his first game vs Everton!

I’m quite happy that it wasn’t announced on Sunday.

You, I and many other know the ‘attendance’ these days is tickets sold. I do think it’s a bit odd when there are obviously lots of empty seats and we hear a jolly announcement saying today’s attendance is 31,000 whatever, and then many people clap

I’m pleased they no longer announce the away attendance for the happy clappers to get excited about :moo:

When I had a seat up that end of the West Upper, I did enjoy the confused look on the faces of Burnley away fans when we applauded their attendance, polite respect totally fried their minds.

I knew I couldn't leave for the ground till 1ish on Sunday. On a normal day transport wise I would've done it without hesitation, but no way on Sunday I was only going to give myself an hour. Glad I didn't, but also gutted I wasn't there for such a dramatic win!

I too didn't hear the announcement but even if there was one I'm pleased they haven't made a big thing about it beingna record attendance - maybe they have realised that an increasing of people are sick of corporate Barber comms and would rather more fun and less spin? Possibly, possibly not, but I do like the new twitter admin/s and using the kids from Seagull Social on coverage etc.

This i like , i did not clap the fans of the big 6 and certainly not dirty or them up the road but i seem to remember a game in the championship where the away fans numbered about 250 ( some body will know who ) and they thoroughly deserved some applause .

I remember a midweek evening game against Reading,I think, about that amount of away fans.
