Tin pot? We have an identity we dont need to create one. Careful when you talk about nicknames, dolphins anyone? We used to play at a ground called the nest, so eagles is not irrelevant

Of course it's irrelevant, you whopper :lolol: Tell me the last time eagles roamed wild around Croydon? Palace picked Eagles for no reason other than because The Glaziers was just embarrassing, and because when they settled on a tenuous bird link, eagles sounded a bit less crap than sparrows, pigeons or bearded tits.

At least there is a clear and obvious connection between Brighton & Hove and seagulls. Eagles are about as common in SE25 as pterodactyls.

So what this really means is that you are still hurting from the last minute winner last year, or maybe the year before, or maybe the play off semi, or maybe having us be the first team to beat you in the league at your shiny new plastic ground. Never mind one day maybe you will have something to celebrate

Last season? Sure.

Play offs? Yep.

But I've never met a single Albion fan who is remotely bothered by the "first team to win at the Amex" thing. For some reason that seems a far bigger deal to you than it ever was to us.

You're very angry today, aren't you? Last night still bites, doesn't it? And that's with you getting a point. I can't imagine what you'd have done if we'd won :lolol:

Depends if you want to buy success or not

Buy success??

There is a fundamental difference between building success by investing in the academy, training facilities, stadium and playing staff in a carefully managed way that is aligned with a long term strategy - and attempting to buy success.

Mmmm.... 'buying success' would probably mean trying to attract US-based investors with no prior interest in the club and then spunking unsustainable amounts on transfer fees and wages whilst the training facilities and stadium fester and decay and long-promised investments and improvements amount to nothing more than artist's impressions that never actually materialise.

Oh woody, you are more than welcome if you are so easily pleased.

Do you have any idea what the general perception is of Brighton amongst the rest of the footballing world? Thought not

Come on then, I will indulge you, what does the rest of the footballing "world" think of Brighton football club?

Also, we didn't go after Odsonne Edouard because he was after £85,000 per week. Somebody else was willing to pay that, it seems.

I thought I'd give you all an update on my day out in Croydon.

In a nutshell there is nothing to see or do. There is however at least three McDonalds and three Wetherspoons, oh and a lot of flyovers. There also seems to be a lot of 15 year old girls pushing prams.

End of report.

The first time I went to Croydon, I saw somebody pissing in the street within 5 minutes of leaving the station.

Depends how you measure Steve vs Bloom. Steve P has been a Palace fan his whole life and puts the interests of the club first in the same way that Bloom does. He just doesnt throw quite so much money at it

No, Parish TAKES rather a lot out of the club - rather different to our Chairman.

Loved the new stand last night - looked great....

I liked the way it was built to be complimentary to the rest of the crumbling edifice.
I couldn’t tell the difference between new and old it was done so sympathetically.

Is it called ‘shabby chic?’

Sweetie? Are you for real? Doesnt hurt that we fought for our ground and didnt let it be turned into a retail park

Fought for your ground? What the actual F**k!

I think you need to learn a bit of your own club's history before you try rewriting ours.

Look, I know it hurts but your (11 year old) club twice went into administration - something that despite all our troubles we never have been.

Dan, suck it up buttercup.

You are fighting a loosing battle on here. You re write history like most of your support.

I can see why tho. Mighty Brighton on a high and going places after all these years. Really is a success story like no other.

And Tony has not bought success, he as invested in a club that he as supported since a boy, and his grandfather was on the board, along with his uncle.

I get it. It hurts. There are support groups you can join and they are online too, seeing as you are active online a lot.

I can see the film now,

The £300 million fairy story, starring Danny De Vito as Tony Bloom, and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Lewis Dunk.
It would be a box office smash.

Local businesses and St. John's Amb better watch out again, the once a decade collapse is now overdue

Depends how you measure Steve vs Bloom. Steve P has been a Palace fan his whole life and puts the interests of the club first in the same way that Bloom does. He just doesnt throw quite so much money at it in the form of an indefinite loan to build a shiny new plastic ground on the edge of town. Maybe if you hadnt given up on the Goldstone you wouldnt have been homeless

I'm sure if Steve Parish did have money to throw around, he wouldn't have sold huge chunks of the club to a bunch of Donald Trump-supporting US businessmen!

(I say 'supporting', but one of Palace's major shareholders, Josh Harris, was actually an adviser to the Trump administration.)

Crystal Palace (est 2010) is just like any other foreign-owned Premier League club, with a bunch of businessmen looking to make a quick buck out of 'English soccer'.

Any comparison with locally owned and run Brighton & Hove Albion is frankly laughable.

Oh wow. Fought for your ground?? By we do you mean a bunch of administrators?

Come on then, you've got the world wide web at your fingertips. Show us some examples of Palace fans fighting for their ground. I'll wait, it shouldn't be too hard should it?

We're all still waiting for the full blown history of how you fought for your ground.....

Still waiting....

Shall I do it for you?

You didn't.

You went into administration.

Twice.

Your club is 11 years old.

Sorry Wozza, I am not laughing. The penguin and his gambling empire is only one step up from Gollivan at Wet Sham with their porn empire. Bit different to a shareholder who advised Trump. Who knows if Trump even listened to him.

Still, always the good guys claiming the moral high ground on everything. Its a loan not a debt, and it will never have to be repaid. Its a beautiful ground in lovely surroundings with award winning pies, concourses, CEOs, padded seats. Entertaining football with one of the best xG around, one of the best young English managers around. A club very much on the up, with all the infrastructure to match, and a truly loyal fanbase that are one club fans that have sold out every ground they have played at for years. A team full of stars, included the legendary Lewis, proud England player who really should have been in the Euros.

How am I doing? Just need to learn the songs. Alllbionnnn, Seagulls, We are brighton from the South. Can I join the super seagulls?
