3 ) India
4 ) S.Korea
5 ) USA
6 ) Singapore
" Most innovative per dollar " ( Rates of innovation to GDP per capita )
1 ) China
2 ) India
3 ) Japan
4 ) S.Korea
5 ) Vietnam
6 ) Pakistan
" Most promise as business partners "

2 ) Pakistan
3 ) Singapore
4 ) Sweden
5 ) New Zealand

Confirms that the European trading bloc is not necessarily at the forefront of business minds throughout the world. The real growth and opportunity lie elsewhere. Europe is still important ( 17% of world trade ) but not as important as many are making out.

Confirms that we are no longer rated as potential trading partners and that our much vaunted innovative skills might not be as all that as we'd like to think. ???

This is just an unsourced, selective and probably made up survey posted by someone in the Remain camp desperate to show how much worse off we'll be outside the EU.

Not so sure the op is a 'remainer' or that his intent is to suggest how much worse off we'll be outside the EU.

Depends when this list was produced. We would not be on the list because we are still to tied to the EU. Once broken away who knows. Rather take our chances on our own than tied to that dying Eurozone.

But we are part of Europe geographically. EVERYTHING real has to be transported, and the longer the distance the higher the cost, it really is that simole.

I read it as exactly the opposite - as someone trying to state the case that we would be free to negotiate with these countries off our own bat once we leave.

And that in turn ignores the notion that we might be better off within the EU negotiating with these countries.

and I am aware of the whoosh element.

David, I read it as the exact opposite too.

I found the earnest use of such a flimsy piece of confirmation bias by a Leave supporter so hilarious that I made my ironic post implying that I support Leave and suggesting the OP was in the Remain camp; a reversal of reality. It was joke! (or at least I thought it was funny.........).

The best countries to do business in will, mostly, be those with the least restrictive regulations.

The here and now is the EU is 50% of our trade, its our cash cow and its what pays the bills. China and India may be the rising star but don't count on them......
