Accuweather is a lot better than the bundled weather app.
Facebook and Twitterfon if you're into such things.

Most of the games I play a lot I paid for but some are very cheap (Flight Control mentioned above is good but was 59p last time I looked)

Another vote for accuweather. Taptap revenge is a great game for free. I tend to download all the top 50 free apps and delete them if they are no good.

Sky sports and eurosports apps look like they could be interesting for this season. Otherwise shazam as a gimmic is quite good, and radiobox seems to work well for digital radio as long as you're in a 3g area. Good for the cricket anyway

Ghost Capture - Puts a ghost in a picture and scares the f*ck out of the girls in the office

TuneIn Radio - the main version is a couple of quid but there is a 'lite' version. No more wondering what the score is when I'm at the mother in law's two hundred miles away. I can listen to BBC Sussex when I want

Darts - you can er . . . . play darts

iMorseCode - for when you need to resort to a primitive form of texting/emailing

Locly - think it's free but it tells you where all sorts of stuff is. Locally. [Geddit?]

I really like igangster. Addictive simple game.

Sky sports and sky news are both good.

Also uk news shows several different newspaper and news sites wihin one app.

Google Earth is worth a look too.
