[Albion] Realistic and plausible transfer business…

It will never end up being this simple BUT… I feel it’s all there for us if the rumours are to be believed.

Marc Cucurella - looks like he’d be a great acquisition at wing back

Odsonne Édouard - if we do have an interest, £20mil could be a steal looks like he’d fit the system well and only major question marks are his attitude

Get the young Chelsea lad in as it’s too good an opportunity even if he is similar in position to Lamptey

Decide whether to sign a Ben White replacement or promote within. Possibly Nat Phillips or the Croatian.

The Japanese winger in as a prospect to go out on loan

Clear a few more ‘deadwood’ players we don’t mind if we lose.

Keep hold of everyone else if possible - eg Bissouma. If not, we’ve got the Conputer and Moises there ready.

Job done.

It’ll never be this simple, but there’s lots of potential in all the above as ‘strong’ rumours and all seem plausible.

Sounds good but personally, I would like a wide player with a bit of pace, Tau will probably leave, Alexis to me looks more comfortable as a number 10 arriving late.. I know we usually play with wingbacks but a pacey forward option who could play out wide and give us something different when we lineup with 4 at the back would give us an extra dimension.

For me the ones I'd want now are Marc Cucurella, Odsonne Edouard, Dan James and Valentino Livramento. Andone, Duffy, Locadia, Jahanbaksh all of the wage bill as well.

I thought you didn’t like the rumour mill Sheeb? How legit are these sources? [emoji6]

It is all realistic individually from the sounds of it but I'd be very surprised (and pleased) if it all happened. Would be a fantastic transfer window for us

I’d like to think there’ll possibly be one or two names that haven’t been rumoured.

That tends to be how we prefer doing business. The Computer and Veltman came completely out of the blue. Hopefully we get someone like that, preferably a striker [emoji120]

I admit to having a slight unease that Edouard may be a flat track bully

Just got to take a leap of faith in the club if we do go for him though.

A lot of interesting departures to be resolved as well. Top of my list to go is Connolly.

With White seemingly going to Arsenal I wonder if out of favour Lacazette may fancy a long stay at the seaside , at 30 years old he still has a few years left in him and at around the 12-15 million asking fee he's a player that may tickle Potters fancy .

Get outside the club's comfort zone and secure Patrik Schick. Right age, good European experience and has scored goals (while maturing) in proper competitive leagues and on the international stage. As close to a young (and better) Glenn Murray as I've ever seen. And keep Bissouma at all costs.

About the Croatian?

Edit - found it.

Altho Naylor saying no to Edouard is fairly likely to be true, we’ve been reported as interested before, and it could be the club don’t want details leaked so Naylors ‘sauce’ is just saying no as a result. I’m hoping.

Naylor is probably getting all his bollox off bladders....... he is the secret sauce!

We're less than a month away from the start of the season but there's still no sign of the quality striker that we need. Are we really going to kick off the new campaign without having addressed this very real requirement? If so, it's going to be a long hard season ahead. I wish I knew why our recruitment team seem to be so poor in this area.

He might tickle Potter's fancy, but I very much doubt his wage demands would tickle Uncle Tony's fancy.

Unfortunately, once a player gets paid £100K-£150K a week, they (and their agents!) consider themselves to be £100K-£150K players, regardless of where they go and who they play for. Time was when top players would often extend their playing career by one or two seasons at a lower level club (with lower level wages). Back then, money - as well as wanting to play as long as possible - was the reason; today, money is the reason why they don't.

No thanks. He is a dirty good finisher, I'll give him that, but painfully slow and doesnt contribute with much else on the pitch.

We are doomed!!

Here he is. Every single pundit and most of us fans can see we need more quality in the front line to progress as a club, but apparently we’re not allowed to mention it or we’re ‘entitled’ or doom-mongers, as opposed to fans who’d like to see us finally land the player that the recruitment team are doing their best to find. Time to get off the high horse.

So we’re not allowed to comment or have an opinion on what we need to improve, as that’s for the club only. Not much point having a forum. Ignore replicated - enjoy the view from your high horse.
