Thank you Carwash. 3.4 to 3.8% in alcoholic content I believe.

Notters - that is unfair. Fosters is piss, even to most lager drinkers.

I often wonder whether evacuating my bowels actively assists in the recovery from a stinking hangover, or whether it makes no discernable difference. On arriving at work after a heavy night, I've sometimes had a tortoise head which has obviously required urgent attention, but I'm not sure I ever really feel any better for it, even though I am purging my lower intestines from the previous nights indescretions.

Surely packing Mr & Mrs Brown and the kids off to the beach should have a positive effect on hangover recovery, but I don't think I feel the benefit.

I've been having the same problem this morning having had 5 ales from the Headless brewing company last night. Stick with the ale simster, i switched 3 yrs back and no hangovers since. Doesn't that tell you something about what is in these terrible mass produced lagers. Hopefully you've seen the light and will stick with the ale.

I would have thought that the effect it has is exactly what the food police want, ie good bowel movement caused by a bit of natural roughage.
I've not touched lager for years, except on holiday and the only hangovers I've had have been on said holidays; six pints of Harveys Best on a Tuesday night and the worst I get is an early morning rusty flush but three of four pints of Efes (the best of a bad lot in Turkey) and I have a nasty head.
I also find, as I plod through my forties, that lager is just so gassy, after three pints I feel totally bloated.

Just think if yoiu were gay? Your old bird wouldn't be happy would he. or perhaps he would?

Why is everyone so obsessed with Harvey's? Is it because there's no competition from other micro breweries? I can only think of Dark star, which is miles better imo.

Well it was what I supped at my mothers breast.

I suppose it is what a lot of people have drunk man and boy. I enjoy other pints, including Dark Star. But I love a pint of Harveys (Old in particular).

See I haven't found one dark star that I can drink a lot of, they're all to sickly for session beers. Harveys' Best is perfec.

Sim, surely these turds are a welcome break to, lets face it, having f*ck all to do at work because you are out of the door next week.

I do know what you mean though, even after a few post work ales on a Friday it is inevitable that I will wake up on Saturday and have to spend a good 20 minutes on the shitter before even contemplating breakfast. I still think it's worth it though and sometimes there is the added bonus of pissing off my flatmate with the smell.

Cracking pints, Camra recommended, and it serves proper food for £6 a pop. It's actually just behind South Wimbledon tube and was remarkably good.

Ironically, it's toilets were SPARKLING clean.

I've often passed this pub cutting through from Merton High Street to Merantum Way. Would never have dreamed of going in there if you hadn't posted. Will give it a try before Christmas.
