On a train...
Train services between Brighton and Seaford are being disrupted due to a fatality at Southease.

Brighton & Hove Buses are accepting Southern ticket holders Brighton - Seaford - Eastbourne.

It must have been a busy day at Southease if one person was there. Zero chance of being pushed from the platform.

My friend lives by Southease station, I'll ask him for details.

Such a weird place for such an occurence though,it is really is in the middle of nowhere. I guess there wouldn't be anyone around to talk you out of it though, but the time it would take to get there from anywhere really surely suggests you'd have to be determined to do it.

Perhaps the person concerned was just trying to get a train to actually stop there.

They aren't THAT infrequent. About once an hour or so during the day. You can do a lovely walk over the hill and down into Glynde for a nice pub lunch in Trevor Arms.

Admittedly, it's not a patch on the Cricketers in Berwick, but I haven't figured out a route there from Southease yet.

I believe the Cuckmere Community bus serves the Cricketers at Berwick. It also meets the trains at Berwick Station. It's not the most direct journey but Southease to Lewes and on to Berwick makes it a possibility!

Local rumour says that the 'victim' is Dr. Barker, from our town medical practice.

He was apparently on call on Friday evening, logged off of the surgery's computer system at 11pm and has not been seen since.

How reliable this rumour is, I've no idea.

If he was a doctor you'd have thought he would have had access to all sorts of powerful drugs to end his life rather than stand in front of a train.

said it before and I'll say it again. Selfish fu ker

Attended an incident the other night where a railworker slipped whilst seeing a goods train back into sidings and had both his legs severed at his knee caps. Obviously this caused some disruption to the travelling public, whilst the paramedics attended to his injuries and we jacked up the train so we could pull him free.

In hindsight, all we were missing was you there to call him a selfish fu ker.

Anybody who involves another in his suicide attempt is indeed a selfish f*cker.
