NO QUESTION HERE. without doubt P/C inspired (sooner the BBC does subscprition) the better. Two of the better choices would be Johnnie Walker or Ken Bruce. :fishing:

Absolutely NOT Johnnie Walker - I turn off the radio as soon as I hear him. Chris Evens is an excellent vhoice IMHO.

I foresee a large number of listeners switching off their radios when Chris Evans takes over the breakfast show.

True - but over 6 months or so he'll have grwon the ratings back to, or above, their current level. The deserters will be the TOGS - and they can f**** off. Nora Bone et al my arse.

I certainly forsee one, sitting right here. I really dislike Evans, his horrid voice is enough to make me switch off, or over, immedeatly.

Very odd post, not sure how either Chris Evans or the alternatives are "politically correct".

Anyway - seems an odd choice to me. Both Radio 1 and Radio 2 have a remit (as part of the charter) to attract listeners of a certain age, them the rules.

In Radio 2's case, I understand it is supposed to attract the over 35s. I'm sure Evans can cater for some of that audience but I suspect there will be an audience of "inbetweeners" who will want to listen to Moyes or Evans in the morning.

As for the older audience that Terry got, will they be turned off by Evans ?

In either case, I can't see the new show gaining anything like the figures Wogan was able to get.

I'm very much a Radio 4 listener in the morning and wouldn't even think of listening to anything else.

seeing as Evans was announced almost in TANDEM with Wogan leaving this thread is abit gay!!

BUT, being someone who never really listened to Wogan and I do like Evans Drive Time Show then I shall be turning on to see what its like in future.

Evans is absolutely inane and not what R2 is about in the mornings. Very strange choice.

I like Evans, but rarely listen to the radio in the morning, or at any time really. But when I do listen to Radio2, Evans makes me laugh.

Chris Evans has grown up and his current drive time show is a good listen - I predict he will do well and will regain numbers after the TOGS switch to Smooth Radio

he gets an average of 5mil atm on the drive time show...not bad me thinks. A good choice and if any of you have actually listened to his show since he has been on radio 2 its very different to his radio 1 days. Hes far more mature and conservative. Less outspoken. he has a wife and a newly born kid. hes mid 40's the sort of age radio 2 are aiming for. Ken bruce should stay where he is. I thought a possible alternative would be Richard Bacon. I enjoy his radio 5 live programme
