he gets an average of 5mil atm on the drive time show...not bad me thinks. A good choice and if any of you have actually listened to his show since he has been on radio 2 its very different to his radio 1 days. Hes far more mature and conservative. Less outspoken. he has a wife and a newly born kid. hes mid 40's the sort of age radio 2 are aiming for. Ken bruce should stay where he is. I thought a possible alternative would be Richard Bacon. I enjoy his radio 5 live programme

I'm guessing Mayo will go to Radio 2 and Bacon will be promoted to Mayo's afternoon show on 5live.

For those of us old enough to remember, Ken Bruce was Wogan's replacement back in the mid 80's when Terry left the breakfast show to do his chat show on BBC1. There have been mutterings that they would be getting rid of Ken Bruce as he is in his late 50s.

This week I have only listened to Terry & Ken as Graham Norton is standing in for Steve Wright. I think Wrighty will be off soon, he's been off more weeks than he's been on this summer, and Sarah Kennedy has been off for about three weeks.

Next year could see wholesale changes at Radio 2. I for one will be off if that happens. I miss Birdsong radio, it's just what I neded when I was really busy in the office.

And yes, I am a TOG!

talking of emails, some of the people who send in traffic reports use some of the most ridiculous names, " the real slim shady" being my particular favourite, i just imagine him to be the sort of bloke who attaches his key ring to his belt loops

Couldn't agree more. You can take digs at Wogan but he doesn't have the highest listening figures for nothing.
