Remember folks, anything you post on the interwebs is in the public domain, and will potentially be stored and traced and followed by thousands of complete strangers from around the world. There's no point taking the attitude that you're safe so long as you're typing away behind a PC screen; anything you say may prove to be your undoing later on. Internet anonymity is a myth.

Tough titties to this eejit though. I spare more sympathy for my neighbour's cat who uses my garden as a toilet each morning.

As a cat lover i am curious as to why......why? thanks in advance....any answer accepted..

No,It is bad but, would you have known and been upset by it if someone had not informed you of it on here? were you aware of it first hand or are you outraged by what has been spread by the O.P.?

I knew about it long before it was talked about on Twitter and posted on here. What he said was sick and just plain wrong, comments personally dont affect me, but they can affect others, especially as they were directed at people.

Because s/he always uses the same corner at the far end of the garden, day in and day out. So now I've set up a compost heap there, using next door's pet litter as fertiliser.

But that's not the point. What I'm talking about is how this imbecile is spreading hateful comments over Twatter, at a time of great tragedy. I feel the analogy helps support my earlier post.

But WHO exactly is this Liam Stacey? some no count twat whos opinion matters f*** all or some important personage of note?
It seems to me he is getting his 15 mins of fame out of his irrelevant drivel being spread around the net on forums like this.

The most curious thing..
But it aint real,it only exists if you let it get to you,no one gives a f*** unless you let it get to you, social media sites come and go.twitter will be as dead as Friends Reunited in a couple of years.
Once it has been posted it is real - what are you talking about? Whether a site will be defunct in the future is meaningless now as presently it is the current trend.

Why do you wish to deny racial hatred?

I think he is referring to a thread from a couple of weeks ago about a song thrush meeting an untimely end.

Nothing to do with forums like this. Millions of people will have been looking through the Muamba trend timeline to get further news and plenty picked up on his sick comments and reported them to the police, the rugby team he plays for and his Uni. He will likely be arrested, thrown out of his Rugby club and chucked off his Uni course.

How can anyone get so excited about shit posted by a nobody on a website for geeks?
If some idiot put bullshit into a newspaper i could imagine people getting a bit upset but some idiot puts shit on a message board no one looks at and we are supposed to be outraged by it?
Let message board crap lie.

You're so, like, 20th century.

I'm also in the camp that thinks why is anyone interested what is posted on Twitter ?

I'm all for the democracy of opinion, but I reserve the right to be uninterested in the opinion of most of the people on Twitter.

I am not clear on why people think they should be interested in this loser. That's not the point. What he has done/said is wrong, whether it affects you or not. If anything it heartening that so many people are disgusted by his comments and as a result he will hopefully be punished. The internet is a huge place and the fact that Twitter polices itself so effectively is surely a good thing?

As alluded to in the first line of the my post, I think it's interesting in relation to the Jamie and Geordie incidents which have involved NSC and Albion fans.

In retrospect, I shouldn't have put the guy's name in the subject header - I'l ask mods to change now. (I purposely didn't quote him or link to him)

This is a brand new phenomena - someone says something (illegal) online, and 1000s react.

There's good and bad in that. Either way, it's very interesting.

PS If you're not interested in anything about Twitter, you might want to avoid threads with 'Twitter' in the heading...

raymondbriggs - saying "it's not real" is about as compelling an argument as "stick and stone will break my bones but names will never hurt me". Social Media can have a massive effect on people's lives (good and bad). The fact that it is in the ether and intangible makes it no less real.

YOU are posting and responding to posts aren't you?
To what point does your posting become relevant? As soon as you click the 'Post' button with your mouse, maybe?

Words eh? All of them are meaningless and irrelevant...... right?

Wow, some nobody living nowhere near me writes something bad about someone else I dont know and has no affect on my life or anyone else I know. Who gives a shit.

PS . Re the neighbour's cat. It isn't his cat in the eyes of the law and the "owner" bears no legal liability for any damage done to your garden or injury caused to you by its actions (unlike a dog, horse, gerbil etc). Cats are treated as wild animals in this respect, though have the same protections as any domestic pet.

On that criteria, I imagine the whole Syria thing is passing you by at the moment, eh?

Also: "something bad" doesn't really cover it, tbh.

Ruins his life?!?!

Doubt it, I'm sure no body gives a f*** now.

Does anyone remember the name of the lad who abused Mendoza the other week? No, nor do I!
