Whether their asylum status is legitimate or not is not the issue.

My question was whether the poster was suggesting that the actions of one man should mean no children should be allowed in.

You are rather misrepresenting the point. The posts that you were responding to were not I think specifically about children asylum
Seekers. I agree with you that the Austria story is not really about immigration (I made that point earlier). You have moved the debate on to the subject of children asylum seekers. Using the word children has been a deliberately emotive development in the Calais debate as to most people that conjures an image of a group containing many primary aged youngsters. It is now quite clear that many of those accepted as children into the U.K. are not children and this raises serious safeguarding issues around adults being accepted as children into the fostering, care and school system. The medical and dental bodies have behaved quite disgracefully in refusing to acknowledge and deal with this risk. There is a serious point to be made here and you do appear to not
acknowledge risks that are obvious.

Apologies, I stand corrected.
I do understand the concerns though even though I think the Austrian legal system is the big story here rather than the nationality of the attacker.

Yep. I thought the common consensus was that kids of 'no legal status' to agree to 'sex' were therefore legally viewed as being unable to consent. I know the age of consent is different across even European countries but age 10?!!! Austria you have a weird judiciary.

My piss is boiling over.
If they show it, watch BBC News in a minute.
Listen to the man talking about the children housed in North Devon for a few days before being moved on.
Please let me know if you agree with him, especially if it was on your doorstep.
I would genuinely like to know what you think with no nasty posts in reply from me.

Did not show it all and cut him off halfway through his rant, they must have had some complaints the 6 o clock news showed everything he said.

I saw it at 6 and he is only saying what so many others would not have the balls to say, its true we cant look after our own.....and are they 'Children'

Sky news just ran an article and all the 'men' interviewed said they were 16......I must be 21......

I think everyone knows about the situation in Syria. What he's trying to tell you is that France, Greece, Austria, Italy, Germany are all safe places for these people to claim asylum. These places should therefore register them as asylum seekers in accordance with international law. Why haven't they?

Why are refugees staying in Calais? Is the UK the only safe place in Europe where these people will be free from prosecution?
Agreed although very very little of these people are Syrians and many claim they're Syrian to get in...This fiasco was caused by the European Union buffoons who basically give you asylum as soon as you hit the shores of the eu and this is why you have thousands pouring in from everywhere.Until this policy is changed nothing will stop the flow.

But they were children and only there for a few days being checked out before being dispersed into foster care or the older ones into rooms like being in university halls.
Children, on there own, from the jungle and open to all sorts of abuse and only a few, not thousands.
I find it hard to believe that anyone could think like that bloke, let alone say it and on TV
Very sad indeed in my opinion, they are kids for gods sake.

Im afraid the govt has opened up a can of worms with its lies and deceit last week.
Why have no real kids or girls or women been paraded in front of the cameras/?

As Sir Albion says in the post above the EU has just allowed any race on earth to come to EU and say they are Syrian...

I dont agree we should be be looking after who ever turns up and says they are kids or Syrians. We live on a small island and CANNOT accept every waif and stray.

Thats my last work Im not going to argue with any crying Liberal......get pissed off seeing them on the news disguised as 'Charity Workers'

Not to mention this policy has caused how many deaths?
Maybe the twats who invented these hideous policies should be accountable for the hundreds if not thousands that have travelled land and sea and never made it...especially the ones from Africa to Italy to the reach the wonderful EU.

Trouble is we have to many far left liberals who think they're god and can never be wrong because it's humanity...where do you draw the line 50,000 100,000 1000,000 etc etc.The only solution is to get these countries up to scratch somehow and to keep these people where they're needed instead of everyone flocking to the same countries year after year.

The EU have zero interest in the migration crisis and offer very little on the monetary side also....They want the EU awash with migrants because it's cheap labour for big business and they don't give a shite about countries worries or needs as they just rake in the money from so called booming economies, sadly they won't be picking up the pieces when it all goes tits up.

That's why the EU with its many floored issues is a disaster for Europe and needs to be abolished !!!!

Sussex survived much larger numbers of Ugandan Asian refugees and Vietnamese boat people being housed in Maresfield and Tangmere back in the 1970s. I can't see the numbers that are arriving now causing any great problems.

Yes, he was/is a piece of shite.
Sadly, there are those out there blind/stupid enough to think that everyone not in favour of Ms. Merkel's immigration policy thinks (assuming she hasn't had second thoughts by now!) like this unpleasant excrescence.
There will even be some deluded enough to think that all who voted 'leave' must automatically share this bigot's views.
Even more sadly, they will continue to believe they are right.

Offer 2,000 aslyum in Brighton then. Who will house them, who will give them health care, who will give them an education if they need it. Who, that is indigenous to this country will loose out? 1970's was nearly 50yrs ago, the population is now much more. Are you an advocate of open borders?

In those days we had many available properties and rightly so did our bit,but now we have bucket loads flocking in from Europe and everywhere else and our infrastructure is crumbling....Councils using private landlords at hideous costs and repossessions at a record high would suggest we have big problems ahead in this country!!!
Greedy bosses pocketing the money because they have loads of cheap labour is of an abundance in this country and they love it...Our government have been looking after the rich for far to long and change is needed.

For those that are kids I have great sympathy. There are, however, legitimate questions about the 'kid' status of some of them. Nothing new there - social services back in the 1980s were dealing with African 'children' who had come to stay with relatives but it hadn't worked out who were suspiciously well developed for 14 year olds.

In the 1970s we had council houses. 10 years later, someone (naming no names) had flogged them off along with any other piece of national 'family silver' that could be flogged off.
