Centre forward. Although, I used to play Right back for Varndean, I think I can step up to the challenge.

I'm sure the REMF Left winger will be pleased with this information.

Starting a revolution from my bed
We undertook a training session late this afternoon which soon descended into a game with a tribe of Kazakhstanis on the woefully maintained base pitch at Preston Park. With the rain plummeting throughout the pitch demarcated further; describing it as a field suited to hoof bandits would be a severe understatement. As the game got underway it was clear “Futbol De Club of Top Boys”, lacked a sense of cohesion and the Kazakhstanis soon took the lead with a decidedly controversial goal, scored by a chode of a human being who was at least 5 yards offside as he poked in from 2 yards out, much to the dismay of the FDCTP defenders.

The walk in the park we had expected started to seem a desperate misinterpretation. However, the lads battled on and we missed a number of chances, with right back Alex Bowden clipping the post from 30 yards out. David Clark had a chance with the follow-up but screwed wide from no more than 6 yards under pressure from Kazakhstan’s ‘7ft monster’. Several more opportunities later we finally hit upon an equaliser as I made a late surge into the box flicking the ball gleefully over one defender before dipping a shot over the keeper into the right hand corner. The lads were relying on me to produce a piece of magic and I provided the goods.

After the initial shaky start we soon found our stride and opened up a 5 goal lead, Paxton Dazo notching his hatrick and Seagull Tim strutting round happily with his two. Surprisingly, the Kazaks crafted themselves out another goal, though again, the striker was markedly offside, this time however, it was greeted with wry smiles by the boys as the new the match was sealed.

The game eventually came to a close as we decided to get ourselves out before things got anymore malevolent with the Kazaks flying in studs up all over the place. Many of the lads left the field with knocks, Clark worryingly professing a ‘groin strain’. This disheartened us a little but we were content to leave the field with a conclusive 7-2 win after Seagull Tim clinched his hatrick.

All in all decent preparation for the lads, but REMF will be a much harder challenge.

The 7ft monster was a Kazakhstani version of Whacko from Mike Bassett.

I'm up for it!

Have put my pavement vehicle on overnight charge ready for the game tomorrow. Am very versatile and can play on either wing.

If not happy for me to play. Could always hand out orange quarters to the squad at half time and give you and Conboy a post match "massage". ???

Surprised there has been no mention of the last minute loan signing of Nsc select captain Da Man Clay for the second half tomorrow!

Kurt scored our first goal, who doesn't post on this board. I'm not sure who scored all of their goals but, Mendoza, Snoobs & there CM scored a flukey goal. Dont know who scored the other. Good game though.

In the first half, we all clicked, we was defiantly on top but football is 90 minutes long, I s'pose.

Ref in the second half should stick to playing, :nono:.

Cheers for the game boys, you easily deserved that half time lead. Decent game of football that. Well played.
