We are not going to be getting into Brighton until about 7pm, isn't that a little late for P&R? I'd prefer to park up nearby in the car if poss...

The P&R will be fine at this time. It is generally fine up till 15 mins before kick off, even used it as late as 10 mins and made it in time.

Really?

I have often parked in Surrenden Crescent, never had any trouble from anyone. :)

What legally, can the authorities do to my car?

Tow it believe it or not. Never heard of it happening though.

The worst that could happen is we could be kicked out of the stadium for breaking the planning permission

Who can do what exactly?

If you're legally parked, i.e. no double yellow lines, then there's nothing that CAN be done. The council can moan at the club, and the club can moan at you, but that's pretty much it.

ER breaking the planning permission re the parking cordon means we could be kicked out of Withdean.

Oh well.

I am still going to park right by Withdean.

I love people like you.

f*** the rest of you, I'm alright Jack!

It's lucky most people abide by the request to not park in the restricted area. It's really no bother to use the park and ride, a bus or a train. If we all just parked as close as possible, the local residents could have been so pissed off that they'd have written to the council objecting to the extension to the temporary use of Withdean due to not complying with the restrictions the club agreed to. Let's hope we don't need another extension in a few years time when the doom and gloom merchants predictions for Falmer materialise.

In the meantime, you just keep jeopardising our future, and I'll remember to thank you if it all goes tits up.

Bright1064, please use the park and ride. If you're late for the game it won't be because the service wasn't available and you'll have to walk a lot shorter distance than if you park in a local street.

You really should get your facts right. Uncle Buck can park is car with a 30 second walk of the ground and nothing can be done

It's a breach of a planning condition.

OK, the authorities cannot remove the car, put a ticket on it or anything like that.

But they can remove the right for Brighton & Hove Albion to play their home matches at Withdean Stadium.

I bet £1000000000000000000 they cant move Uncle Bucks car, or chuck the Albion out of Withdean as a result of him parking there

Uncle Buck can park his car INSIDE the exclusion zone - because he lives there.

The rest of us WON'T be fined for parking inside the exclusion zone.

The Club WILL be fined if the number of cars parked inside the exclusion zone is higher than the number agreed by the Council. If this happens to excess, the Club COULD be prevented from playing at Withdean. This COULD lead to the Albion being expelled from the League.

Using Mill Road P&R before 7.25pm on Tuesday WILL get you to the stadium in time for kick-off - UNLESS the streets are blocked with too many cars looking for parking spaces inside the exclusion zone..

1 car, no they can't. But enough cars park within the zone already that they could fine the club. I think you'll find that there are probably many sanctions they could use if they wanted to. I'd be a little more careful with your cash if I were you. They may very well not want to remove the permission, but they most certainly could.

The main point, though, is not to piss off the locals who were persuaded that the supporters could be trusted not to clog their roads with cars on matchdays. It is when they start complaining that the council will be forced to act.

On the terraces!!
to be honest i always (when i used to visit our shithole make piece home) used to park a couple of roads down from the Withdean entrance - there was always cones and stewards everywhere except this one road, up a steep hill.

sorry - but i cant be f***ed with the P&R and was usually really late anyway.

getting kicked out of Withdean would be GREEEEAT (if we could groundshare elsewhere!)
