My mate is driving down from Sutton to see the game with me on Tuesday.

Can someone please tell me the best place for him to park (pref. free) so that he can get to the Withdean?

He won't mind walking for a bit, but nowhere too far away!

Cheers

We are not going to be getting into Brighton until about 7pm, isn't that a little late for P&R? I'd prefer to park up nearby in the car if poss...

Is Carden Avenue still a goer? Drove past on the day of the Ipswich game to be confronted with a police sign saying residents only which i dont recall ever being there before. Just wondering whether there had been a bit of a clampdown.

A272 at 85 mph
carden avenue will be empty but if you take the roundabout(A23/A27) following the signs for lewes go round the first roundabout back towards the A23 and do a quick left, follow the road down and turn right at the ladys mile pub and park up near the school you are guaranteed a parking spot about a quarter of an hours walk

Parking restrictions? f*** 'em.

I live 2 or 3 roads away from Withdean, and my normally quiet, beautiful, peaceful, and idyllic residential haven is PACKED with cars on a matchday. It's the same in Valley Drive, Colebrook Road, Eldred Avenue etc. Just drive to Withdean, and I GUARANTEE you will find a space to park within 5 minutes walk.

Fair enough!

I just don't want to have my mate landed with a fine etc..

He won't. No chance. There is nothing they can/will do, unless you park in the coned area (which is only the bit literally right next to Withdean). Put it like this, I've parked in the 'restriction zone' for every single match we've ever played at Withdean (i.e. my car sits outside my house) and I've never had a problem, nor seen a problem with any of the albion fans who park outside.

I don't know if I should trust you Badger. We all know what a little scamp you can be sometimes! :jester:
