The roof over the North Stand might also help date the picture, think that might be the old roof, which I'm pretty sure wasn't there when I watched my first game in 1982...though the Lego stand definitely was as I was stood in front of it.

I'd say that was somewhen from the 1980/81 season pretty sure the lego stand wasn't up for the Arse game. BTW Beagrie was superb in that B game

If indeed this is against Arsenal, and the attendance is 28 - 30K. How the hell did they manage to shoehorn in 36,500 against Fulham for the record attendance. Given that the "Lego" stand was not there. Christ knows how they managed that.

The South Stand was terracing in 58. There were people all around the edge of the pitch.

Probably a bit over capacity!

Just looked it up now. The John Vinicombe book for the season has scorers as Stapleton, Sunderland 2 and Brady (pen).

Pretty sure that Nigel Martyn, listed above as a Bristol Rovers player, joined Palace just before this game, and got some abuse, at least from me in the North Stand!!!
