It is definitely the Arsenal game (August 18, 1979) - the same photo is in a book I have called 'Brighton and Hove Albion in Old Picture Postcards'. It was used a lot at the time, being the club's first ever game in the top flight.
The lego stand was built during the close season after we got promotion (always thought it represented a lack of ambition by the club to put up an ugly temporary stand - as if they knew we wouldn't be there for long. They should have forked out a bit of dosh and extended the West Stand).
As a previous poster said, they used to be able to cram even more in when the South Stand was terracing. My second ever Albion match was at home v Palace in March 1976 (in the old third division) - attendance 33,300!
