Every defeat is the refs fault.

Not at all, I said that we deserved to give away the penalty and probably the red card as well. My gripe is with a poor ref not the result. When I posted last week it was about a few incidents with clubs I have no feelings towards either way

the problem with refs is they are always under the spotlight, even more so now, i wouldnt want to be a referee in this day and age, admitidly the standard is woeful at best this year, but we have created a culture of hounding refs at every decision.

its not just the prem where refs are struggling, if we backed refs and made their jobs easier, there wouldnt be a problem

nobody hounds refs in rugby because the players and fans respect his decision as final

I do absolutely get fed up with this argument put forward about respect for the ref's decision in Rugby. Remove the rule that allows refs to give penalties for dissent or move penalties forward if there is dissent and then watch the level of respect they currently enjoy soon evaporate. It's nothing to do with respect but is about not wanting to concede possession and/or present a goalscoring opportunity to the opponents.

If Brown had touched him where the ref said he did then it cannot be a red card as he was not last man and at that point there was no clear goal scoring opportunity. O'Shea did foul him and I agree with the red card. My issue is with the report the ref gave he has tried to cover his own ass but made it worse because if he said it was the first foul by brown then at worst it should be a yellow for him.

I think if he came out after and said sorry got it wrong but I still think one of them should have been sent off but I got the wrong person then fair enough, but to deny you made a mistake just makes it look worse than it is

Who else, other than the keeper, was between Falcao and the goal than Brown? O'Shea was behind Falcao and had his arm pulling him down and Brown was more alongside of Falcao! I do agree with your last sentence which is pretty much what my post was about.

I think that is exactly the problem. The ref is the easiest target. Players make dozens of mistakes every match, but managers, fellow players and to a degree fans never criticise them. And yet every mistake by the ref is pulled apart in slo-mo and used as the excuse for the team not doing well.

229 posts and I assume you don't read this forum that much if you don't think players mistakes are pulled apart. Look at MOTD, there is plenty of analysis of mistakes by players whether it be positional or just by missing an open goal! That or you are in fact a referee yourself!

They didnt impose it on O Shea instead and the sending off of Brown didnt help Sunderland. Any action to be taken against the ref I doubt it.

I'v got a white stick somewhere...............Roger East should be suspended for a few matches, then asked to ref and under 8 match , that might just consentrate his mind a little

I think you are well and truly blinkered which adds further credence to my suggestion you might in fact be a referee yourslelf!!

Here we go again, wrong man sent off in the City game after 90 seconds, what a joke, how in this day and age do we not use video etc to ensure the correct player goes. I do agree a player should go there as last man but not that one

They've certainly had their share of dodgy decisions in their favour.

Without the amount of dodgy decisions in their favour, I doubt Bournemouth would be anywhere near the top. Eddie Howe certainly likes to train his teams to cheat.

Ref is trying to make up for the fact that they had a dubious goal not awarded last week by giving them an extra penalty on top of their usual 1.

I usually say that decisions even themselves out, but Bournemouth seem to get more than their fair share, particularly in the important matches. That Watford player getting sent off after about 40 seconds against them is one that springs to mind.

On current form I expect they'll probably get at least three pens against us next month.
