If wanting Bobby to remain an iconic figure with legendary status at Brighton as he is now and not wanting to see him come back and spoil the memories makes me a lesser fan than you obviously are then I'm happy with that.

That's not the same thing. Some of us don't want him to come back for various reasons, but doesn't mean they wouldn't support him if he did. It's not going to happen though, fortunately.
