Would be interested in what Poyet thinks of Zamora - he may not think he is right for the club. My view is that he could only be considered on short term contract to bring some premier league experience to the squad.

It's interesting working in a London office of mainly football fans, nobody rates him at all - in fact when the scored the winner against Arsenal recently someone said "I couldn't believe Zamora scored - he's shit". I wonder if he didn't have a history with us, would anybody want him to come to us ?

I'd say that is mostly down to ignorance - how much have the actually watched him? Obviously we'd most likely be ignorant too if he'd not once pulled on the mighty blue and white stripes! I think he's the type of player that you need to watch a full match to see his contribution. Not many neutral fans watch Fulham/QPR, all the see is the off little bit here and there on match of the day or look at his stats and just base their opinion on stats. Most Fulham fans I know think he's quality.

Don't quite follow the logic there. You're saying that CMS and Vicente came to the Albion for the football and not the money? Then why on earth, would it not be possible for Zamora (who has an affinity with BHA) to come here for the football and not the money?

Well im guessing hes on like 50 - 60k a week? I really cant see him dropping down to like 20 - 25 aweek?

I love Bobby Z & what he did for us back in the day was a joy to watch at the Withdean. However, we had him as a fresh, young, hungry for goals striker & he is so different now. I would like the good memories to live on so I wouldn’t want to see him playing back with us as he would lose his legendary status in my eyes & as Hillian1 has already stated on here that if he didn’t score for 4-5 games, people would be getting on his back & I certainly wouldn’t want to see that.

People who say no are just full of shit, Because if he did come back then I'm sure they'd be over the moon and bragging about how good it is to have a striker of his quality at our club.

He'll go back to West Ham if they're promoted , I doubt we'll see him down here in the next couple of years.

Why are people "full of shit" if they don't think he'll come back? The weekly wedge he's become accustomed to (since his time down here) would suggest to me that people are somewhat deluded if they think we'd be forking out anything like the figure he'd be after.

I totally agree that £90,000 a week is WAY too much, but surely QPR will need to offload him they get relegated with those wages and I can't see him getting that kind of money anywhere else.

I'd offer him £20,000 a week (if in the Premier League) and the promise of playing some lovely football in the twilight of his career at a club he loves.

BTW I think what Blackpool did (with the £10,000 p/w pay cap) was brilliant, and would love us to do something similar. However, I think we could afford a slightly higher wage cap, purely that compared to Bloomfield Road the Amex is an absolute CASH COW :)

He has a contract paying £90k a week at QPR, there is no way he will give that up to earn a quarter of the sum at the Falmex.

Rubbish. If he hadn't played here before and someone offered you an ageing striker, who doesn't score nearly as many as he should, has had a number of bad injuries and is on a comparatively major salary .... would you be jumping up and down and saying "sign him up" ?

It always amazes me how football fans fail to understand how contracts work. Whether QPR want to offload him or not they cant unless BZ agrees, they have to continue paying him the £70k a week until his contract ends. Why would Bobby agree to give all that cash up and join someone else for £20k?

The stumbling block would be cash, we cannot get near to even half of what earns at the moment, and nor would I want us too.

If however Bobby would be happy to see out his playing days at a reduced (albeit still hefty compared to the rest of us) rate then I would be delighted to see him back.

With the red and blue bars on the top here, he's more likely to replace Muzza next season. Seriously I don't think Gus is the "buy for sentiment2 type. Palace diod it with Johnny Byrne in the 1960's and it was a DISASTER. He was still in nappies.

I'm full of shit then. I DO NOT want to see Booby back here, and if I'm honest I think there are far, far better, younger, cheaper strikers out there now.

I do get how contracts work, and of course he has the option to dig his heels in and refuse to leave - can't see it happening though. I'm pretty sure that if QPR get relegated he'll leave. Contractually this may be through mutual termination where the player receives a lump sum pay off, plus a signing on fee from his new club. Sometimes players (with a conscience) also tear up their contract, happy enough with a signing on fee from a new club, even if wages may be lower.

A player can not tear up their own contract, the most they can do to make sure they leave sooner is act like a tw@t within the team and ask for a transfer or unless the club agree to terminate it sooner.

I can't realistically see BZ being either being in our budget or being of interest to him as a place to move for a good couple of years. To be honest, I'm not sure it would be such a good move if it happened now (although I'd be delighted if it did and it all worked out) and a couple of years further down the road would only make me doubt the wisdom of such a move further.

That's bollocks, Tanno tore up his West Ham contract for example.

Presumably if they both agree to terminate a contract, that would be ok - one side cannot, as far as I know, that's why it's a "contract" between two parties, unless there are clauses specified within.
