If wages were right, he'd be the PERFECT striker for our system. Finally a replacement for Murray - a strong link up striker with an eye for goal himself.

ees complicated no?

Nope rather not see the club pay stupid amounts of wages to players no matter who they were, TB would never let this happen & we have shown we dont need to offer huge sums thats how we ended up vicente and CMS when they no doubt got offered more else where.

Don't quite follow the logic there. You're saying that CMS and Vicente came to the Albion for the football and not the money? Then why on earth, would it not be possible for Zamora (who has an affinity with BHA) to come here for the football and not the money?

Five goals in the league last season, and seven so far in this season.

His role has changed a lot since his Albion days though. While of course he's still a striker and should probably be getting 10-15 goals a season, his role these days is much more as a link up man between his strike partner and the midfield. I went to a few games when he was at Fulham and he was the catalyst for everything Fulham did going forward and was superb at bringing others in to the game.

I agree he is a foil to the rest of the strike force, but we don't have players as good as Fulham. If we spunked £90k a week on BZ's wages there would not be a huge amount left for other signings. Blackpool's TOTAL wage bill last year in the Premiership was £11 million, and you are suggesting spending half of that on one player. BZ will always be dear to us, but £90k a week is too dear.

Don't forget he'll be nearly 32 by next season, and had injuries. I can see him retiring fairly soon.

Nope, it would be a backward step, we had good times when he was here, those memories can only be ruined by an unsuccessful return. I really hope it doesn't happen. Will be interesting to see what happens to him if QPR do get relegated though, but I don't really think we're getting promoted.

I totally agree that £90,000 a week is WAY too much, but surely QPR will need to offload him they get relegated with those wages and I can't see him getting that kind of money anywhere else.

I'd offer him £20,000 a week (if in the Premier League) and the promise of playing some lovely football in the twilight of his career at a club he loves.

BTW I think what Blackpool did (with the £10,000 p/w pay cap) was brilliant, and would love us to do something similar. However, I think we could afford a slightly higher wage cap, purely that compared to Bloomfield Road the Amex is an absolute CASH COW :)

He'll be the best paid player in the Championship.

Yes, except CMS Palace fans.

The stumbling block would be cash, we cannot get near to even half of what earns at the moment, and nor would I want us too.

If however Bobby would be happy to see out his playing days at a reduced (albeit still hefty compared to the rest of us) rate then I would be delighted to see him back.

Injured for a fair bit of last season, showed flashes of brilliance. His performance in Fulham's 6-1 win against whoever it was was absolutely fantastic. Are you suggesting he's not good enough for Brighton?

I've always doubted that - he said it also about WH, whom he supports. No doubt he has fond memories of his time here, but "love" I doubt very much.

Maybe, maybe not. He does still come to games every now and then. West Ham was his local team and the club he supported as a boy, Brighton was the club he made his name at, and he's often said that the favourite years of his career where at Albion. Having said that scoring in the play off final for West Ham must have been pretty special for him too. I guess perhaps love is too strong a word

i don't think he's on £90k a week, there was a hold up in his transfer to QPR because he wanted that much..........i think he's on a bit less

.........which is still FAR too much (i've heard about £70k) for us.......he'd need to take a monuMENTAL pay cut to come here, when he could probably still get similar money elsewhere

It's interesting working in a London office of mainly football fans, nobody rates him at all - in fact when the scored the winner against Arsenal recently someone said "I couldn't believe Zamora scored - he's shit". I wonder if he didn't have a history with us, would anybody want him to come to us ?

Imagine the binfests if after 4 or 5 games he hasn't scored and isn't working hard enough for the team and someone slates him on here.

Meltdown.

I don't want him back, he is a legend in my eyes and I would like it to remain that way.
