Last season was last season... not going to matter much going forward. What he is showing Fabian right now will be more important in making a decision about what tod owith him.
This guy is a Swedish internstional isn't he? I cannot believe some of the negative comments about him.

He must be showing something in training and on the pitch. I hope he stays

Well I’m at the ground guess you’re watching on a laptop? One soft pen and barely any clear cut chances against a team that has got to be a favourite for relegation. Guess you’re easily pleased.
Big screen actually!
Sounds like you were sat behind BBasic
Don't know what you were expecting from a friendly against lower Championship opposition to be fair...it's one step up from jogging around the training pitch whilst you get your fitness up and learn exactly what a new bloke in charge wants from you.
You'll have plenty of chance to whinge about the state of play once it gets all serious

Jesus wept.

It was a friendly for christ sake! People writing off individuals and some the team 🤦🏼

Let start making judgments when we have a fully fit squad available and the transfer window has closed.

The comments ref Wieffer are laughable! It’s his first run out following a long period on the sidelines. Some of you need to get a grip.
Fair to call out the wieffer comments.

However it's clear to me that Milner is starting the season in defensive midfield. Wieffer is too far away and will be eased in

These aren't the players you're looking for.

You can tell FH likes Sarmiento - he presses relentlessly. I think he’ll stay and be in the squad this year.

I hope not, too lightweight. Plays with the ball so far from his body, he's asking to have it nicked off him.

Well, not really. He's played a bit with the "b team" but wouldn't be in our best squad right now.

Personally I haven't had much belief that he will make it in the Premier League, but he's been very convincing in the pre-season, looks like he's added some needed intensity to his game.

Ayari did well in first half and showed promise - he is a possible alternative to Gilmour.

JPVH looks on form, stepping up as a leader. Minteh and Mitoma provie lovely balance out wide and with Barco and Hinsh behind them shortly we will get back to having that threat out wide.

I loved the wolfpack closing down and I think that will suit players like Sarmimeto, possibly Undav.

I think we made QPR look ordinary - they never had any sustained pressure, just moments.

Overall - with those players - I'll take that performance.

Sarmiento did nothing today against a v poor team. It’s one thing looking good against Japanese League 2 level but the premier league is levels above what we’ve seen pre season. Our midfield overall is a real concern if Billy is off unless we sign some real quality. Absolutely no one in their today dictating play.

It’s a friendly and played as nearly all pre-season games play out. Basing your season on these games is stupid!

Ayari? He is a Swedish International, yes. But some countries are pretty free and easy about handing a cap or two to young players with potential. Iirc he didn’t cost much, was a bit of a punt and has been inconsistent in the championship. And Swansman has always been cool on him (it is his area of expertise).
We have better starting options.
He will probably be on his way soonish, with nothing much lost.

Can't agree with you. I think he's getting better by the game. Enciso vibes in terms of improvement. Excited to see him in the squad this season.

Pretty underwhelmed by that performanice and I worry that we are two weeks from kick off and FH doesn’t seem to have a clue what his best team is. No surprise as so many players weren’t available. All a bit scattergun to me at the moment

I thought Baleba and Ayari were amongst our better players and Sarmiento looked keen. I doubt more than one of them will be a starter when everyone is available though

Yes, the pressing was very impressive. Pressing in packs and winning the ball back quickly. Didn’t give QPR much chance to have sustained pressure. ( Minteh very impressive in that respect)
In terms of possession we were too impatient at times IMHO.

You do realise this is a football forum to discuss BHAFC and people therefore usually talk about what they’re just seen?

FWIW also thought Wieffer looked good.
