Damn right it was cold, so bloody boring as well, dull, dull, dull
I got the coach to that one from Conway Street, SEVERELY hung over from overdoing the NYE celebrations the night before. Given the choice, if it was just me then I'd have binned it off, but I had tickets for me and the boy so struggled along to it (I think it was a lunchtime kickoff as well...ugh).

For some reason the coach went via Wembley Stadium ffs, probably missed his exit on the M25. Game was shit, view was shit. Not one of my happiest starts to a new year.

Last time I visited Loftus Rd was a few weeks ago for the 4-0 against Leeds. I was meeting up with some Australian visitors in London and they were keen to see a game. A very enjoyable evening but as others have said, very little leg room. If you’re taller than 5’6” prepare to come out with sore knees. I plan to go the Albion game. Will try the opposite stand this time (South Africa Rd) in the hope it may be slightly roomier than the Stan Bowles stand. It’s only a week before the Championship season starts so expect QPR to field a full strength side and play competitively.

Rubbish ground, rubbish view, horrific concourse, rubbish area of London, limited drinking options for away fans, endless debates over the Overground versus the Tube (it's the first from Clapham Junction). At least you can walk through the retail horror of the Westfield Centre.

I can get there in 45 minutes, but there are endless things I'd rather do than visit Loftus Road for a pre-season friendly.

I'd rather go to Millwall.

Both The Den and Loftus Road are cracking little grounds so long as you can stand up. To be avoided if you need to sit.

I suppose I should go considering I’m based in Fulham!

It's a great ground. I did my school work experience there when I was about 15. They stuck me in Gerry Francis's office and made me do filing all week. Iain Dowie came to the finance office, and I had to write him a cheque for his dental bill in my scruffy handwriting.

It's strategically located for some good pubs. Defectors Weld, Shepherds Bush used to be a great spot.

There is no such thing as a good pub in Shepherds Bush. The Defectors Weld is staffed by couldn't be bothered hipsters and frequented by creatively frustrated media types who either work in a menial job or are hoping to bump into someone so they can get one.

The best thing about Shepherds Bush is that's relatively easy to leave.

Think about the name, what would a shepherd do with a bush ? Crap in it ?

Strategically located, in that you've got the Dove in Hammersmith less than 3 miles away. The river pubs of Chiswick if you're coming via Clapham Junction. And as you mention easy to leave on the central line and be anywhere. - That's a very nice away game in my view!

I like the Defector Weld, but some of your points are fair. The last time I was in there (over 10 years ago), Stephen Fry was in the toilets with an early 20's frustrated media "hoping to bump into someone type."

I think "less than 3 miles" from a decent pub is stretching "strategically located" to and perhaps beyond breaking point.

My point is that it's a great away day because you can't get to Loftus Road (especially if you're coming from Sussex) without going via an area in London with quality pubs (Chiswick/Hammersmith/Notting Hill, etc), especially on a potentially sunny Saturday in August.

Says the guy from Clapham where the wannabes just can’t afford to live over the river🤣
I’ve lived & worked in the Bush for years and much prefer it to south. Each to their own though.
