I’ve lived & worked in the Bush for years and much prefer it to south. Each to their own though.

Firstly young man I don't live in Clapham. I traded that in for a majestic pile nearby and could easily trade this in for a Chelsea residence....

.. that said a shoe box with a combined shower and kitchen but I digress.

I've worked in Shepherds Bush for almost 20 years and know it better than my arsehole. They have similar qualities.

Why on earth would you leave Fulham for Shepherds Bush ?

Better transports links I guess, because Fulham is only marginally better served than the moon.

Strategically located, in that you've got the Dove in Hammersmith less than 3 miles away. The river pubs of Chiswick if you're coming via Clapham Junction. And as you mention easy to leave on the central line and be anywhere. - That's a very nice away game in my view!

I like the Defector Weld, but some of your points are fair. The last time I was in there (over 10 years ago), Stephen Fry was in the toilets with an early 20's frustrated media "hoping to bump into someone type."

Why would you go anyway near Chiswick to get to Shepherds Bush from Clapham Junction ? The overland takes you from Clapham Junction to The Shepherds Outside Toilet direct.

To take in Chiswick, you'd get a fast to Richmond then cut back in to Gunnersbury. My option would then be a bus to Shepherds Outside Toilet or a bus to Hammersmith and the tube.

But you would only do that if you were lost or hammered.

There are some reasonable wanky bars in Shepherds Outside Toilet that serve a reasonable overpriced pint. I'd suggest the new Turd Rolled in Glitter on Wood Lane.

I own a pied-à-terre... well actually, it's pretty substantial second home close to Kew Green, so I tend to go Clapham Junction <> Richmond on the fast train and have my driver take me onwards.

To be fair I probably only like it because I know a load of people so doing a bit of shopping in my road is a bit of social thing. When the R’s play Millwall it makes our Palace games look like a kids tea party and does make me wonder why Sussex plod get all hot and bothered under the collar about a game where hardly anything happens.

Maybe, depends on the fixture list to be honest. If we're away somewhere else in London within the first few games then I don't really see the point.

That's all I go there for these days and the occasional trip to Westfield.

Ever had the Chinese in Westfield? Definitely worth a visit if you like Chinese food

It's a great ground. I did my school work experience there when I was about 15. They stuck me in Gerry Francis's office and made me do filing all week. Iain Dowie came to the finance office, and I had to write him a cheque for his dental bill in my scruffy handwriting.

It's strategically located for some good pubs. Defectors Weld, Shepherds Bush used to be a great spot.

Probably my favourite football ground despite the legroom problem. My brother lives around the corner and I’ve been there quite a few times. Loads of tube stations and bus routes nearby and a wide range of pubs including several really old-fashioned dives like the White Horse. I can understand Shepherds Bush being too down market for some sensitive Brighton types but I always enjoy visiting. Huge range of eateries. Proper authentic London.

To my knowledge the Defectors Weld pub is strictly 'Home Fans Only' (ticket checks by the bouncers) I tried once (I think it was the 2-2 draw in 2016?) so haven't bothered drinking in S/Bush since

Wow that surprises me! I went to a mid week game when we played in 2013 and had no bother.

I don’t think they’ll be any issues for a pre season friendly either.

There is never a dull moment in the Bush.
I can recommend a super kebab/Turkish/med restaurant Lara in Turnham Green. If it’s a sunny day you can sit outside with a beer.
Plenty of buses take you back to Uxbridge rd.

My mate who resides from Greneda used to live in SB.
Some of the food outlets he used to take us to were phenomenal for quality.
