Qatar convicts and deports woman for being raped

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-36516006

A court in Qatar has convicted a Dutch woman of having sex outside marriage after she told police she was raped.
The 22-year-old was handed a suspended sentence and fined $824 (£580). She will also be deported.
Her lawyer said her drink had been spiked at a Doha hotel in March and she had woken up in a stranger's flat, where she realised she had been raped.

Its pretty much the equivalent over here of a woman approaching a copper and reporting being raped to be told, "You're nicked you slut, its all your own fault for having a drink and wearing that short skirt".

Qatar - Like a man from the middle ages suddenly turns un in 2016 and finds a cache of buried treasure hidden in the sand.

Rewind 30 years, and you pretty much had that here.

In 1982 a High Court Judge (Judge Bernard Richards) said that a woman who was hitchhiking late at night and was picked up and raped was ‘asking for it’ and guilty of contributory negligence. He let the rapist off with a fine.

Rewind errrr a few months and you have the U.S of A.

A California judge's decision to give former Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner a six-month jail sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman has caused a national uproar.

My Son is doing some work with The Metropolitan Police on this very subject.

There are still some pretty archaic attitudes in the Police towards woman who have been raped.

I'd advice any female football fan to give Qatar a miss in 2022 because rapes will sky rocket and the females will be jailed.

Oil and Gas should be classed as global resources, that would sort a lot of the worlds problems out, including not putting so much wealth into the hands of medieval Bedouins.
