I recently had to set a quiz so here are a few of the questions
GEOGRAPHY
Q - Only one country in the world ends with the letter D but not with the word Land, can you name this African country?

A = Chad

Q - There are 2 countries that start with the letter A but do not finish with an a, can you name them?

A = Afghanistan & Azerbaijan

Q - Can you name the 5 European countries that existed in 1975 but no longer in existance today?(pt for each)

A = Yugoslavia, Soviet Union, East Germany, West Germany, Czechoslovakia

Q - What is the third largest city in the UK?

A = Leeds

TRUE OR FALSE
Q = In Welsh a microwave is known as a 'popty ping'

A = True, Most Welsh speakers call a microwave a 'meicrodon', however some prefer the onomatopoeic colloquialism 'popty ping' (ping oven).

Q = Astronauts have a little patch of Velcro inside their helmets so that they can scratch their noses. True or false?

A = True

Q = There is no German word meaning 'fluffy'

A = It's False, The German word for 'fluffy' is 'flaumig'. It was Edmund Blackadder who said, “The Teutonic reputation for brutality is well-founded: their operas last three or four days; and they have no word for `fluffy.''

A = True, 52 bones in the feet and 206 in the whole body.

Nope, though it's a much more common answer than Cambridgeshire.

EDIT: Well, I see it's a Metropolitan County. Does that make it a County? I guess it does. Ah well, I haven't done very well with my question - sorry, OP!

EDIT: Too late - I can't edit it. Apologies for the incorrect question. Anyway, the whole Merseyside debate probably rendered it too controversial for a question in a quiz....
