As usual, OB filming out of desperation to get a ban on someone and they got one in what are totally over the top circumstances. No way does that warren 3 years. Completely OT. Hardly did much did he? Love how as usual the English get the punishment and the Greeks get off scot free.

It’s the club & Sussex plod pushing for these banning orders. I suppose the the Greek plod would have to do the same for the AEK fans if they wanted. They probably didn’t though as it was all handbags nothing serious.

From my view at the time, there had been a reaction from aek at the final whistle. It blew up after some goading from our fans. It calmed down a bit and then blew up again after some of our 'let me at em' fans had made their way across.

I too saw things thrown and indeed had bottles and cups landing on and around me hence why i took my family into the concourse where they got the worse of the gas. You arent wrong that it happened but it escalated on both sides and i think the situation would have been far less (if at all) without the reaction of some of our own.

Right at the outset sone of our fans were goading their fans after the game (some scarf swapping had happened immediately as the game ended then it escalated). I didnt see our fans throw anything either and sorry i hadnt made that clear.

From what I recall of the incident from my viewpoint above, was that there was no need for the guy to get involved at all. It looked pretty embarrassing from my viewpoint. it wasn't helped by the lack of steward or police intervention at the start of the charges but everyone else seemed capable of staying out of it.

As we looked down was it the incident on the left or the right?

If he's black jumper on the right I'm not surprised such action was sort.

You should have seen the utter bellends that were in the upper tier to the right at the front. Spent the entire game trying to antagonise the AEK fans, hammering on the Perspex, gesticulating, most of the AEK fans just looked back through the Perspex as if to WTF?

Eventually a couple of AEK fans came down to the front and began responding, cue AEK fans and our idiots trying to reach around the Perspex barrier trying to throw punches, spitting, throwing stuff, doubt they saw 5 minutes of the football, let alone remember the score.

Thing is, on that side, I doubt there were any ‘ultras’ in the block next to us, they were there to watch the game, it was the three or four individuals on our side who spent all their time trying to get a rise out of the AEK fans, and when I say ALL their time, I mean it, they paid no attention to the game or the build up whatsoever, just constant goading, hammering on the Perspex, and of course were then acting indignant when a handful of AEK fans responded in kind, in fact I think they probably shat themselves when a couple of AEK fans tried to get around the barrier at the front.

I've noticed this more and more at our away games.

I used to love following the Albion away, but increasingly I'm coming across foul-mouthed, pissed-up and coke-up Albion supporters who seem to think that they can only derive pleasure from calling everyone a c*nt all the time and trying to invite any opposition fan outside.

Thankfully, I've seen the Albion in Europe now, so I've better things to do with my time that collect points for away games where I have to sit with these idiots.

Going away used to be about visiting new towns; trying new pubs; mingling with opposition fans. Yes, it was about banter and taking the piss out of each other, but that was all it was about. Now, it's so much more aggressive and I hate it.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the mates I go to the football with at the Amex, I'd be close to jacking in the season ticket altogether. I get more camaraderie and fun from going to the Dripping Pan. But, I am an Albion fan and always will be. I just wish some of these newbies would bugger off. I guess they would have previously supported Chelsea when we were at the Withdean or in the Championship.

Will arrive in their seats (6-8 of them in 3-4 seats usually, starting arguments with those in their place), spend the entire game slagging off our players, goading the oppo fans or checking bets on their phones. The designated round-buyer will piss off on 40 mins to get the beer in, then they’ll come back again 5 mins into the second half, possibly having added another 2–3 to their number. Often no idea what’s going on on the pitch (won’t, for example, realise we’ve made a sub).

Yep, I've missed just 3 aways this season and have seen this on too many occasions.

How was he defending items thrown at them? Has he got umbrella arms or was he deflecting and catching everything heading in their direction?
Can't we just say it as it is: A bunch of possibly coked up mates go to the game, get on the beer and try to look all hard in front of each other.

Aggressive behaviour based purely on the football team you support is dumb.
Such flimsy vindication behind idiots who are "ard" in their own minds and can't handle drink/drugs.
It's the same from both sets of supporters, they think we're all in admiration of them and much the same as high-speeding drivers/those who drive with fog lights on thinking they look good/those with terribly crap "personalised" number plates, we're just watching and laughing at them and their tiny genitals.

If something as trivial as a sports team from another town, wherever in the world, is enough to spark a wish to inflict abuse, harm, and injury on someone who supports them surely it isn't too big a stretch to suspect a certain proportion of these knuckle-draggers think the same of other races.
Inclusive? Possibly not.

Go and watch your team. Behave like a decent human then carry on watching.
Have the courage of your convictions, don't come out with some bullcrap excuse, it makes you look even worse.
Behave like a plum, get banned.
