I would, but I don't mind if they stay in the hotel or other existing buildings near by, in fact, they do, and my wife speaks to quite a few on her morning dog walk.
However, a Palace fan runs the nearest pub to that hotel and displays anti refugee stickers including the Palace Eagle behind his bar. Also a George Cross flag with "Crawley Town Loyal" across the horizontal bar, and a Crystal Palace badge in one corner, to show how Crawley Town Loyal he is, fuckwit.
Let me guess, The Moonraker?

BBC radio this morning said that if found guilty for participating in a public order offence / riot, the offender can go down for years, not months (hopefully)
They must be at least equal to if not greater than the Stop the Oil sentences given the violence against the police, property and in some cases threat to life.

A front line copper said the Asian defence league are also violent and it’s not being reported by the mainstream media.

I’d be incredibly surprised if any such organization existed. Asia is a sizeable land mass, with countless disparate cultures, many of whom hate each other.

The idea that the peoples of Asia would all band together under a single banner and organize sounds like a far right wet dream, but colossally unlikely to happen in reality.

I’m afraid I want to see some reputable sources before I even believe in their existence.

It would be like a European Defence League, with the idea that we’d all be chummy with the Russians, instead of just Farage and Banks.

The truth is that with low wages lack of job security shortage of truly affordable housing all of which results in women leaving having children much later in life and are on average only having 1.5 children when we need 2.1 just to stop the decline and 3.0 to grow the population to the levels required.
We have one sector of the population that is growing and that’s the older generations like myself no longer working and paying taxes, using the services of the NHS more and more while being kept alive decades longer than previous generations while living in homes they own having benefited from bequests of previous generations low house prices sensible public rental property and low wage to loan rates 3.5 an average yearly wage for one person would secure a mortgage on a three bedroom house in Brighton

Do you mean the fictional Muslim Defence League which has been touted on X for the last 4 days?

I've done my bit then. Though just one or two kids would be much easier.

There was a report issued around that time which highlighted an issue withAsian grooming gangs.
It's this reporty where most of the grooming gangs rhetoric comes from.
A lot was made of the disproportionately high level of "asian" men who were active in "grooming gangs".

The report didn't hold up well to scrutiny, as it relied heavily on very sketchy data on the ethnicity of perpetrators, being classified as "Asian".
It later transpired that many of the members of the grooming gangs were from various ethnicities.
There also wasn't a decent set of data on "grooming gangs" and the report was slated as being a bit of a stitch up and may have been politically motivated.

It's become the preferred trope of the "I'm not racist, but" crowd, that Muslim men are paedophiles.
In reality there are as many horrific stories of paedophiles from all races and religions, as there are from Muslims.
Yep. Fancy that, eh?

As a follow up to my earlier post I have decided I will make a donation to someone or something which has been affected by these riots, or maybe just a general refugee charity. I have found this https://hullhelpforrefugees.org.uk/donate/.

I will do this personally, but also wonder if is it appropriate to coordinate something via NSC? Maybe have a separate sticky thread discussing donations and where to send them. Or is best for NSC to stay neutral….guess this is a question for @Bozza

Seems to be more posts about counter-protests than any ’far right’ protest

Just had a long chat with Mrs Wz. We are going wednesday.

I'm a proud Brightonian and I didn't let racist ****s parade through Brighton chanting and intimidating people who 'weren't like them' in the late 70's/early 80s and I'm ***ed if Im going to allow it tomorrow.

I've always believed that there comes a time to simply stand up for what you believe

No, tbh, it's not really a pub these days, it's the Emerald club on Southgate Playing field.
The Arora Hotel is the one close to me that has asylum claimants. Unfortunately, the Holiday Inn on the square about is being targeted for a demonstration on Friday, that is near the Moonraker. Hopefully enough people will be seen to have been dealt with by the law by then, that either no one shows, or those that do, don't kick off. However a counter protest is also planned and likely that both sides will wind each other up, or kick off at Three Bridges or on the trains as groups arrive.

I'd go on Weds if I were you - might be a bit lonely tomorrow. :)
