You seem to be confusing me with someone who supports attacking a mosque …you seem to be confusing me with someone who supported that demonstration at Southport ..the attacking of police ..the destruction and criminality with someone who questioned the automatic labelling (by people on here and MSM ) of people who attended the Downing Street protest as far right knuckle draggers…the labelling of anyone who voted Reform as not having the ability to think (quite a few million then) ….so I won’t be pausing for reflection I’ve no need in fact it’s quite patronising if with the best possible motives :)

I don’t expect many if anyone to agree ..but felt a forthright reply was necessary particularly as an assumption has been made re Southport

Ps GB Try rereading my post that u referred to it originated from a comment about the ‘far right’ ..labelling etc and had nothing to do with motives of attending Downing Street …if I felt your question was sincere I might have offered an opinion
What is it you think the 'protesters' have a point about?

And do you think it justifies a protest?

I accept you don't support the way the 'protest' was carried out.

Yes I know, and a result I asked you a fairly simple question which you dodged.

Let's try another one; who do you think organised the Downing St protest?

Knife crime is not a government problem (excepting creating laws such as has already been created regarding the carrying of knives). It is a social problem. Unfortunately over a period of many years we have seen an absolving of society of its responsibilities to government levels.

Legislation that criminalises the carrying of knives is in place. Prison sentences can also be an outcome. If the law is not a deterrent then we have a social problem. The question is thus: What are we as a society doing about knife culture ?
N.B. I'm not trying to turn this into a "F**k the Tories" thread but it is kind of a government problem in so far as there've been crippling cuts to all sorts of public / social services, closures of third spaces, mental health provisions etc etc and that explicitly was government policy for over a decade.

I'm keen to see how Labour tackle this, the restoration of our crippled social infrastructure.

Once again, I think I can answer that. An ex army chap who has a you tube channel and was there said that it was Lozza Fox (who didn't turn up) and Danny Tommo (who apparently was one of the 100 plus arrested).

The new Little Britain looks a bit shit

On the plus side, I can't see this having much traction with the 'kids of today'.

Oh. A couple of far right nutters then.

Perhaps an anti knife crime protest would get better numbers and more well behaved attendees if it was organised via an official charity like the Ben Kinsella Trust? What do you think?

Once again, you asked who organised it and I told you based on information from those who were there. Anyway, it's totally irrelevent as it was a spurious cause to cover up, shall we say, some of the less palatable concerns of the attendees.

Unfortunately there is a reason why 27980 of the NSC membership of 28000 odd give threads like these a swerve, because they always descend into a bunfight, highlighting the febrile, intolerant times that we live in.

Presumably, the London protest was organised on social networking. Does anyone have, or has anyone seen the adverts (or whatever they're called) actually posted to persuade people that they should go on this demonstration ? I'm genuinely interested to see what was written to convince people it was a good idea to go and why ?

And I have seen news reports that further demonstrations are planned imminently and yet I haven't seen a single advert for them.

Anyone ?

*edit*
You asked what the protest was about and I told you based on what I had read on various sites, just that !!. If you want me to dig it up for you, i can do it.

If you could, thanks

I saw something on X about Liverpool tonight, but it was more about the last time when the ‘fascists’ were beaten back to the station.
