[Politics] Priti Patel bullies staff and gets away scot free

I'd imagine you don't get to be Home Secretary without being a bit of a monster with the hide of a rhino

Look at what one of her predecessors, Theresa May, did with the Windrush landing papers, and then launched the Hostile Environment.

Apologies if fixtures.

Boris set up a tribunal. The person charged found her guilty. Boris dismisses the findings. Person charged with running the tribunal resigns.

Nothing to see here.

Imagine the boot on the other foot.....

Labour charged with antisemitism. Tribunal says 'yes'. Corbyn says OK but it's not a big deal. Starmer says 'you're OK mate'.

The gammon would have been all over it (even though they have no time for the 'Israelites' themselves)

Nice to see Labour perched on the higher ground. I'm content I rejoined the party after Starmer got in and started to make his mark.

I expect JCFG and others have a mountain of whataboutery to thow at me now. Fire away. I'll put you all on ignore

Gammon.:ffsparr: Although we oppose each other politically, I thought you were more intelligent than that. Obviously not. I voted for Brexit. I want controlled but fair immigration. I suppose that makes me Gammon does it? If so, what do you mean 'They have no time for the Israelites.'? Strange assumption. I used to think you were alright, but you really have become an egoistic Pillock, which is proven by the fact you actually believe anybody gives a f*** if you put them on ignore. Ta ta.:bigwave:

I think you’re confirming you’re not what HWT is referring to as Gammon. The massive outrage at supposed antisemitism when never in their lives previously having any interest in antisemitism whatsoever I think is the point there.

These days, I'd be concerned for myself if I did understand what he is referring to most of the time.

Respect where its due to TM for those initiatives for sure. Tho not sure what relevence it has to my comments in post #79

Respect? I think you've massively misunderstood my post. Theresa May started the Windrush scandal and made Amber Rudd take the blame for it. She is as evil as Ms Patel.

You are right of course. Sloppy wording on my part. I was referring to TM's acknowlement and belated attempts to put things right. Doesn't alter my original central point that you don't get to be Home Secretary by being a nice person. You get battered on all sides, and in turn lash out to those serving under you

Patel cannot change.

There will be another bullying case within months. She'll be gone then.

Johnson just needs her onside for now if he announces a brexit trade deal rather than having her denouncing it from outside the cabinet.

A former aide attempted suicide in 2015 due to her bullying and received £25K compensation. The alarm bells were ringing then.

Bullying? Shouting and swearing? Sounds like every company I’ve ever worked in. The difference being, nobody’s making political capital out of everyday business.

We need to investigate the armed forces next. I’ve heard sergeants have raised their voices at recruits, up to 6 inches from their faces too. Public enquiry required. And their doc Martin’s should have rainbow laces. And soldiers should be allowed to grow beards and not be forced to wear uniforms. And And And...

You've worked at some shit companies then.

I have experienced two occasions when a bully has gone nuts in the office ffing and geffing - before too long they were escorted from the premises. A good employer will not tolerate bullying.

As for the armed forces, that is indeed a grey area, clearly the needs of a soldier are different to a junior civil servant and the drilling has to be intense, although there have been several cases of apparent suicides after recruits have been bullied and humiliated...

Oh and Deepcut might be of interest to you

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deaths_at_Deepcut_army_barracks

Now there's one for the conspiracy theorists, oh wait, the people involved weren't famous enough, just some poor saps that couldn't hack being bullied...! Possibly...

Let's face it some civil servants need a kick up the arse now and again, it's common knowledge some are anti government policies???

Far better to have young recruits take their own life’s,than have staff instructors who can actually train and educate young servicemen without bullying.
