How is that relevant to a British passport holder? As per my post above, we can still be questioned and denied entry under the normal immigration rules. White, Brown, Christian, or Muslim. But that has always been the case.

And when has it ever been a human right to enter another country? I lived in Canada for 4 years, and the regs were draconian. So be it. It is their right.

Sorry if I sound a bit counter intuitive. I am an old lefty, but I'm not persuaded by the arguments I have so far seen that Trump is doing anything 'wrong' in as much as it is what he promised and what people presumably voted for. Not for me, but whatever. I don't live there and don't have a vote there.

This Australian only had a visa for Iran in his Australian passport. He was held for 14 hours and then sent home.

this is the sort of thing that goes on already, chap at work had a similar situation last year.

that said, seems to me the US immigration service aren't sure of the rules, and assurances being reversed and restated within hours is almost parody.

Not always. Trump got two or three million fewer votes than Clinton but still won so actually the majority didn't win because of an electoral system set the way it is.

He is a dual British-Iraqi citizen born in the uk to two Iraqi parents who moved over 28 years ago (4 year sports before he was born).

He was told today that because he visits family in Baghdad once or twice yearly (and has done so in the last six months) he would be denied entry to the US until this ban is lifted.

To be fair this was before Boris clarified the position so he's now waiting to hear back from the US embassy tomorrow regarding the exact status.

So he's enjoying all the benefits of being a British citizen but still wants an Iranian passport.Why? I wouldn't think that would improve anything at all except his ability to get in and out of Iran. And you can bet that the mullahs there have a nice file on him.There's something wrong with this concept that's particularly unappealing.
