Baker is a complete bufoon. How desperate must he be to think Prescott would be swayed by a Steak and Kidney Pie.

How did he know this? Do we have an informant working for us?!?!?

If I was Prescott I would take out an order against Baker. This is harrasment!

"In a Commons written reply on Monday, Mr Baker was told: "The hospitality provided to Mr Prescott by Brighton and Hove Albion consisted of a steak and kidney pie and a glass of water in the creche temporarily being used as the directors' box."

The response came from Jim Fitzpatrick, a junior minister in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

He said to give any more information about the meeting "would harm the frankness and candour of internal discussions".

Would have helped to have finished reading the article I suppose :dunce:

To be fair to Mr Baker, John Prescott is blatently corrupt and I think that he gave us a yes to the decision on the promise that he would get a steak and Kidney pie for his troubles.....oh and a glass of water.

But as Knightsworld points out above, did he get a fork!

We deserve to be told!

Let Baker carry on he is just making a total arse of himself and soon noone will take him seriously on any subject he talks about, he is committing professional suicide imho but is too stupid to realise.

The point being missed is 'was he offered more pies and glasses of water at Falmer? Promises like that can sway anybody.

I've had a Withdean Steak and Kidney Pie.

It kept me going for three and a half days until I had to eat again.

Edit: Actually it was a Steak and Kidney PUDDING that I had :dunce:

If the legal challenges by LDC hadn't nearly bankrupted us perhaps we would have been able to afford chips and mushy peas with it and squash for the water and then they would have had a case.

Do you need a fork for the pudding, or are they only necessary for the pies?

Baker has spent months on the biggest piece of investigative journalism since Watergate.

'Who ate all the pie?'
