Do PL do an added deal for overseas TV or do Sky TNT sell on to get some money back.

Overseas rights are sold separately by the Premier League.

Most of the overseas deals run till the end of the 24/25 season, with a few deals running till the end of the 27/28 season.

That’s the cost per game, on average, to the UK broadcasters. It will be paid for by a combination of subscribers, advertising and program sponsors.

Obviously overseas deals will come at an individual cost to each broadcaster but although the overseas TV deal on the whole is worth more than the domestic packages that cost is spread over many countries and different TV companies so the cost per game is more than likely less.

Pretty hard to convince a young kid to go and see, say, Salford if Man City are on TV.

Ultimately we will get to the point where ALL games are televised and they can do that with enough varied kick off times to still avoid the 3pm blackout. Saturday 3pm will become time for televised women's football and non televised lower league games.

There are pretty much 8 slots each weekend as it is for games and then the odd game (Sunday 2pm) will kick off at the same time across different providers.

Friday 8pm, Saturday 12:30pm, Saturday 5pm, Saturday 8pm, Sunday 12pm, Sunday 2pm, Sunday 4:30pm, Monday 8pm

Sunday 7pm was also mooted which would give 9 different times over a weekend.

They do this in La Liga already. No two games kick off at the same time

That’s a shame - One of the few good perks about Amazon Prime Membership was watching a Christmas series of free PL matches - I was hoping Amazon would be expanding this part of their service - disappointing for those of us who don’t subscribe to Sky - (I generally pay per view just for the Brighton matches so at least more games will be broadcast) - but honestly the amount of money being poured into top flight EPL from broadcasting rights (to the detriment of the rest of the football league) is staggering.

Minorly annoying from a local ST point of view that both the Albion's Amazon Prime games this month (Brentford, Spurs) are from the Amex. Tho I guess it cuts out the eternal ballsache of train roulette

Very disingenuous of the PL to call it a record deal. The 2016/17 deal was worth £5.14bn over three years, so £1.71bn per season. This new deal is £6.75bn over four years, so £1.69bn per season. Take into account inflation and it’s a significant real terms decrease. Throw in the so called ‘New Deal’ in terms of more money to EFL clubs and it’s a further decrease for those in the PL.
