Are we at the point that a player testing positive might miss the restart?

I'm sure this has probably been asked already and that I will be mercilessly 'fixtured', but is Lewis Dunk still one yellow card away from a two match ban? Was the cut off point at a set date (in which case he will, obviously, be OK) or after a set number of games....?

The cut off is after a clubs 32nd fixture. So for Lewis Dunk it would be after the Man Utd game.

If Lewis gets a yellow against Arsenal or Leicester he gets the 2 match ban.

I think it is before game 32, not after ?

It’s after 32 games have been completed as per the Essential Information for Players Handbook

Looks like La Liga re-starting today? And Italy with the Coppa Italia tomorrow (Juve v Milan).

With all the big leagues back up and running, hopefully they can all learn from each other’s experience and help things run smoothly. Italy still seems to have this rule that if 1 player tests positive the entire squad has to go into a 14 day isolation training camp. That does not sound practical as it could really mess up their fixtures if it does happen.

I agree it all looks promising. One thing though; Italy’s rules on isolation will be being set basis their views on people’s welfare, not on whether or not the football fixtures can be completed or not.

Pitch Invasion, Mallorca v Barca.
Not worth its own thread but, in a ground with no fans, someone managed to run on to the pitch wearing a Messi Argentina shirt.
So how do they run back into the stand and merge with the crowd?

The Norwich Covid victim just played against Spurs in a friendly.

It would seem sensible to reschedule the Friday Norwich v Southampton and Spurs v Man Utd games.

Personally I would like to see the full report and how they've worked out these numbers - In previous seasons there have been reports about the incredibly high accuracy of offside decisions, I can see how easy it is to achieve that - every kick of the ball can be included e.g. ball gets passed from Dunk to Duffy on the edge of our area - one lino doesn't flag because it's defender to defender, other doesn't flag because it's in their own half, two correct offside calls; player in an offside position receives that ball, but it was from a goalkick so no flag, another correct decision, etc and you can really bulk up the sample size with 'correct decisions'. Similarly, if you break it down to how long each individual player is in contact with an opponent, you're going to get 22 counts of 0 secs or close to it, when you look at goalkeepers contact with each opposition player. You'll get a few more zeros if you include unused subs, coaches and medical staff. You'll get lower counts if you limit it just to contact and not 'within two metres', etc. (Though I still suspect the chance of infection during a game are low)

However, it's not me the premier league has to convince, and they are happy with their study, and that is why Spurs are not being asked to quarantine.
