Ah, the agenda now seems clear.

I think it's even simpler than that. Loads of clubs who imagine they are now safe from relegation want to max up their income because why wouldn't hey? To do that they need the season to end so that Sky don't start asking for their money back. Some dimbot has thrown in the neutral stadium suggestion thinking this may be seen as a sweetner (with the OB or government, or whoever makes the final decision) that may reduce the number of supporters milling about outside (home, not away, as away is away, designated stadium or 'neutral', and any scouser prepared to schlep it to the Amex to mill about will do the same if the game is at Villa Park). Likewise the 30 minutes a half claptrap. Just 'outside the box' thinking wheezes, of no known value. The EPL, and the clubs with nothing to play for, like Bumly, are like someone jiggling their arse at a disco, hoping that someone will condescend to buy them a drink and later take them off somewhere for a shag.

Our Bumley chum is happy with that because it is no skin of his nose, no skin of Bumly's nose, and simply irrelevant 'whateverness'. I would feel the same in their boots, probably. Sod Brighton, let's get Brexit (sorry, the season) done, keep our money, keep our heads down and move on.

Meanwhile, any club at risk of relegation (you can guess the rest).

Ah, the agenda now seems clear.

Did you miss this post?

As at 2019 Burnley has £41m in the bank and hardly any debts. We're better prepared than most to survive without funds, but of course we don't have a rich (football-standard rich, that is) chairman who can help out, so an early end to the season would pretty much leave us on breadline again.

Where do you get all that from? One of the smallest wage bills in the EPL, but awash with all the syrupy goodness of the TV money. They were relegated a few seasons ago and bounced back without any fuss. They nerly dropped into the conference 20 odd years ago but now they are, as far as I can see, an extremely well run club.

Are you a professional nitwit or have you been on the sauce? ???

It was probably based on Burnley coming out early on after the season halted saying that if a shutdown lasted too long they would be in financial difficulties. Whether it was true or not is a whole different t debate but the club themselves said it would create issues for them.

Same website where it said Brighton don't want the season to continue. See Brighton fans are tuned in and can see a made up comment, unfortunately not all fans are the same, one person tweets a complete lie and and it's taken as gospel.

Has anybody given any thought to the players that were allowed to go back to their own countries to be with family, that will have to somehow find their way back here (if they even can as some countries have completely closed their borders) and then spend 14 days in isolation/quarantine before they can even start training again?

The 14 day isolation period isn’t being implemented until the end of the month according to the press, I’m sure that’s enough time to get players back to the UK (where borders remain open).

Interesting. I see Dresden entire squad now in isolation.and will miss first restart fixture.
,

Yes, it's becoming quite big news now.

An interesting part of the news is that a Dresden representative has said that during the 14 day isolation period they cannot play together or even train. So, if that is the case in the Premier League, would it be even remotely fair for a team who have had to quarantine their entire squad, should be expected to fulfill a fixture immediately after the 14 day isolation period ?

Given the time span that the Premier League are expected to complete the fixtures, this is looking more ridiculous than ever.

It would be fine for Burnley because they are not TIMID....

Reality check, no restart, if it is enforced, law suits to follow. #teambloom
